Not believing Susan Rice’s ludicrous assertion that she was unaware that the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens was an act of terrorism can now get you labeled as a bigot.

One of the first things the Palestinians did with their status as non-member observer state was to have the UN Division for Palestinian Rights send a letter to the UN pass office to insist that they step in to deny invitees of the UN-accredited Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, whose director is Anne Bayefsky, the passes for the day of solidarity they had duly requested in writing. That is the day when the body will debate the question of Palestine.

One side says that Israel is a criminal state that has no right to exist, much less to deploy force; while opponents declare instead it is a modern liberal democracy with the rule of law that justifiably protects innocent civilians. Principles in fact drive this debate. Daniel Pipes argues “to any sentient person, it is obvious that Israelis are 100 percent justified in protecting themselves from wanton attacks. A cartoon from the First Hamas–Israel War, of 2008 to 2009, symbolically showed a Palestinian terrorist shooting from behind a baby carriage at an Israeli soldier in front of a baby carriage.”

The government of Israel made a mistake when it unilaterally withdrew from Gaza whose direct consequence is the most recent violence. Under pressure from the United States, specifically Condoleezza Rice, its Prime Minister accepted in 2005 the so called “Agreed Arrangements,” that withdrew Israeli forces from the Philadelphi Corridor, a 14-kilometer-long and 100-meter-wide area between Gaza and Egypt. Even though Egypt in the 1979 peace treaty with Israel to promised not to allow acts or threats of belligerency, hostility, or violence it has not lived up to that assurance but in fact permitted massive smuggling of armaments to Gaza via tunnels. Placing this strategic tract of land back under the control of Israel and stopping the flow of arms through the border tunnels is the only way to prevent further violence.

Many believe that Obamacare is a scam making young adults pay for complete, comprehensive health insurance when all they need and should pay for is major catastrophe insurance. What those who forced this on the American people did not tell everyone is that it covers absolutely nothing more than the bare minimum. Obamacare is the law and physicians are audited constantly so if during the so called free annual examination a new condition is found it is against the law to treat it. Also, doctors are now obligated by the government to talk to you about your weight, exercise, family life, smoking, sexual abuse, and even to ask if you wear seat belts. And they are mandated to record your answers.

Now that Israel is fighting back against the rocket-launching Iranian-backed terrorists of Gaza, the United Nations has swung into a whirlwind of activity, calling for immediate measures to end the conflict. In contrast earlier this month Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Ron Prosor, sent numerous letters pleading with the Security Council to condemn the terrorist assaults on his country and got little response.

November 21, 2012

The world would very much like to see the bloodshed in Gaza stopping. The Egyptian President predicts that a lasting ceasefire is imminent. However, if the coverage of the conflict reported in The Daily Mail including the extra-judicial murders of six accused collaborators before a howling mob is any indication that forecast will probably not come true. The paper says “the executions came as Israel carried out more than 150 more strikes in Gaza and dropped leaflets in the heavily populated north and south of the city warning Palestinians to evacuate certain areas. The leaflets include a 'grid' of streets to be cleared, adding : 'The Israel Defence Forces are not targeting any of you and they do not want to harm you or your families. For your safety, you are required to evacuate your residences immediately and move towards central Gaza city.’” Clearly the leadership of Hamas is not the least bit concerned about the lives of the Palestinian civilians in Gaza but only with their own lives and their continued ability to rain deadly rockets down upon Israeli innocents.

November 21, 2012

The international community and the media are encouraging the barbaric Hamas tactic of deliberately sacrificing the civilians in Gaza, Alan Dershowitz, by no means a right wing war monger, explains “Hamas’s tactic is as simple as it is criminal and brutal. Its leaders know that by repeatedly firing rockets at Israeli civilian areas, they will give Israel no choice but to respond. Israel’s response will target the rockets and those sending them. In order to maximize their own civilian casualties, and thereby earn the sympathy of the international community and media, Hamas leaders deliberately fire their rockets from densely populated civilian areas. The Hamas fighters hide in underground bunkers but Hamas refuses to provide any shelter for its own civilians, who they use as ‘human shields’.” The interests of Hamas are served by a large number of civilians, both Jews and Arabs, dying while in contrast the interests of Israel are promoted by as few people as possible being killed.

November 19, 2012

Even though Iran-backed Hamas terror organization continues to fire deadly rockets from the Gaza Strip aimed at its people Israel is still transferring goods and supplies into Gaza to minimize the impact of hostilities on Palestinian civilians. They continue their yearly supplies in the hundreds of tons and millions of meters of food, water, and fuel.

The death of 4-year old Mahmoud Sadallah became an iconic image splashed all around the world when the Egyptian Prime Minister held him in his arms and blamed Israel. The boy was allegedly killed during an IDF airstrike but in fact it happened during a ceasefire in place for the visit of the Egyptian leader. Hamas of course broke the truce immediately and they are trying to convince the world that all the deaths and violence are caused by Israeli bombs “but there were signs on Saturday that not all the Palestinian casualties have been the result of Israeli air strikes. The highly publicized death of four-year-old Mohammed Sadallah appeared to have been the result of a misfiring home-made rocket, not a bomb dropped by Israel.” Experts from Palestinian Centre for Human Rights have inspected the scene and concluded that the explosion was caused by a Palestinian rocket.

Irena Sendler

Died: May 12, 2008 (aged 98) Warsaw, Poland During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.

She had an ulterior motive. Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids..

Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto

The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.

During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi's broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out in a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard.

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming. Later another politician, Barack Hussein Obama, won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN.

In MEMORIAM - 65 YEARS LATER we doing a small part by forwarding this message. I hope you'll consider doing the same.

In memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests Who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated! Now, more than ever, with Iran , and others, claiming the HOLOCAUST to be 'a myth', it's imperative to make sure the world never forgets, ... Because there are others who would like to do it again.

The most authoritarian institutions in modern American have become our universities. Authors such as F Scott Fitzgerald and books like the Quran are now the subjects of censorship. Greg Lukianoff, president of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) says they are in "a bizarre, parallel dimension." His organization has spent the last ten years fighting free speech battles on campuses.

The latest example of its demise occurred when Fordham University President Joseph McShane attacked the college Republicans for inviting Ann Coulter to speak and they subsequently felt the need to disinvite her. Lukianoff observed that censorship in this case had reached a new level because "this was the longest, strongest condemnation of a speaker that I've ever seen in which a university president also tried to claim that he was defending freedom of speech." He also asserts that those who believe that colleges and universities are places where we want less freedom of speech have won. "If anything, there should be even greater freedom of speech on college campuses. But now things have been turned around to give campus communities the expectation that if someone's feelings are hurt by something that is said, the university will protect that person. As soon as you allow something as vague as Big Brother protecting your feelings, anything and everything can be punished."

Roger L. Simon has written to Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu saying that he wants to volunteer for the Israeli Defense Force. He references the trouble on the southern border and asserts that unlike many fellow Jews in this country he would do anything to help. He states “I am perfectly clear that your cause is just and the time is now. In fact, unlike an even larger number of my fellow citizens — and quite probably our president — I am perfectly clear that your cause is also ours.”

Egypt’s Freedom and Justice Party the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood announced today that their country would get involved if Israel continued to eliminate terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Even as dozens of rockets have been fired at Israel Obama has remained silent.

The Obama administration will continue to be a member of the U.N. Council on human rights for three more years. The United States achieved reelection with very many less votes than such human rights than such human rights stalwarts as the United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Venezuela, and Pakistan. In addition as Anne Bayefsky informs us “fewer than half of Council members now poised to begin applying democratic standards to the rest of the world, are themselves ‘fully free,’ according to Freedom House rankings.” Also, a big winner in today’s vote was the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which retained the balance of power on the Council. Despite the dismal outcome our ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice, told the press the results of the vote validated the administration’s decision to join the council. During the organization’s six year history 38% of its criticism for human rights violations has been directed at Israel alone while none of its complaints have been aimed at countries such as Saudi Arabia and China, to name but a few.

The outcome of this election is a time of great trial for some people but it is good to remember the woe will be on the other side the next time. In his call for a more credible evaluation of this loss Wesley Pruden observes “losing an election always hurts; winning hurts the other guys, which is why winning is so sweet. This one hurts conservatives a lot, and it’s particularly painful for those with unrealistic great expectations.” For those now engaging in an orgy of pessimism he reminds them that “the election did not settle much of anything. We’re still a center-right country with a president of diminished popularity (his 7-point victory in 2008 shrank to 2 points this year), a closely divided Senate where Republicans can still work the rules to derail radical legislation, and a House with enough Republicans to prevail against the worst that Democrats can devise. The game is still on. Conservatives have the persuasive case to make, but invective, insult, rant and rave won’t do it. Reasoned argument will. This goes for Democrats, too. They should remember the infallible Pruden Principle: Nothing recedes like success. History proves it.”

November 9, 2012

When we analyze the result of the election it is important to acknowledge that the mainstream media tipped the scale in Obama’s favor. They behaved not as dispassionate tellers of truth but rather as partisans per suing a victory. They achieved their goal, a win for Obama, in number of different ways. The media constantly sought out as well as publicized real and imagined gaffes by Romney. They employed one-sided fact checking. Their debate moderators for the most part were extremely biased. Knowledge about the Benghazi attack was kept to as low a level as possible. Also they buried the facts about how bad the economy really was.

The reelection of Barack Obama is bound to cause concern also mixed with defiance in Israel. One official, Danny Danon, deputy speaker of Israel’s Knesset, begins the inevitable dialogue by stating that the state of Israel will not surrender before President Obama. He argues that naïve leadership has hurt America and the Obama’s victory means that Israel must take care of themselves and they cannot rely on anyone else.

November 7, 2012

Peggy Noonan begins her latest essay for Wall Street Journal predicting Mitt Romney will win this election by stating that no one knows anything and everyone is guessing. However, she says “ among the wisest words spoken this cycle were by John Dickerson of CBS News and Slate, who said, in a conversation the night before the last presidential debate, that he thought maybe the American people were quietly cooking something up, something we don’t know about.” She believes that just may be a Romney victory. She talks about the Al Smith dinner where Romney looked much more at ease then Obama, She argues “I suspect both Romney and Obama have a sense of what’s coming, and it’s part of why Romney looks so peaceful and Obama so roiled. Maybe that’s what the coming Romney moment is about: independents, conservatives, Republicans, even some Democrats, thinking: We can turn it around, we can work together, we can right this thing, and he can help.”

Our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were murdered on September 11, 2012 but we know little else about what happened during this attack on United States personal. The White house charges that Republicans are politicizing this incident however when politicians hold other politicians accountable for their actions or lack of actions they are doing what they are supposed to do. In contrast the Administration has made that difficult by offering evasive, inconsistent and conflicting accounts about one of the most serious American overseas defeats in recent years. If unresolved questions about Benghazi still cast a shadow over this election that is because Barack Obama has failed to resolve them.

First off: Why did the U.S. not heed warnings about a growing Islamist presence in Benghazi and better protect the diplomatic mission and CIA annex?

Secondly: What exactly happened on the day of 9/11? During the over six hours that the compounds in Benghazi were under siege, could the U.S. have done more to save lives? What was President Obama doing and ordering his subordinates to do in those fateful hours?

Thirdly: Why has the Administration's story about what took place in Benghazi been so haphazard and unclear?

Before we vote on Tuesday we must carefully consider the most obvious possiblity that Barack Obama and his allies do not want these questions to be answered.

Jewish philanthropist Sheldon Adelson receives a great deal of criticism for financially supporting Republican candidates and causes. He clarifies his change of course, which mirrors mine to some extent, in The Wall Street Journal by explaining I did not leave the Democratic Party left me. He remembers his immigrant family aligned itself with the Democratic Party, platform and ideals—as did most Jews of Boston in the 1930s and '40s because only liberal politicians campaigned in our disadvantaged neighborhood. He also recalls the majority of Boston's Republicans were remote, wealthy elites… some of whose fancy country clubs didn't accept Jews. Those who oppose his viewpoints claim he abandoned the party because he got rich and did not want to pay taxes or because of some other conservative caricature. However, the truth s is the Democratic Party altered in ways that no longer supported the values of his upbringing.

One prime example is its new attitude towards Israel a Gallop poll from last march asked are your sympathies with Israel or the Palestinians and while 78% of Republicans chose Israel only 53% of Democrats did so. Adelson maintains “nowhere was this change in Democratic sympathies more evident than in the chilling reaction on the floor of the Democratic convention in September when the question of Israel's capital came up for a vote. Anyone who witnessed the delegates' angry screaming and fist-shaking could see that far more is going on in the Democratic Party than mere opposition to citing Jerusalem in their platform. There is now a visceral anti-Israel movement among rank-and-file Democrats, a disturbing development that my parents' generation would not have ignored.” He also cites the Democratic Party’s break with the immigrant values of his community especially individual charity and neighborliness and observes that states that vote Republican are now far more generous to charities than those voting Democratic. He feels obligated to speak up in favor of charity, self-reliance, and accountability and he asserts “these are the age-old virtues that help make our communities prosperous. Yet, sadly, the Democratic Party no longer seems to value them as it once did. That's why I switched parties, and why I'm now giving amply to Republicans.”

The New York Daily News has given its endorsement for President to Mitt Romney. Its editors declare “America’s heart, soul, brains and muscle — the middle- and working-class people who make this nation great — have been beset for too long by sapping economic decline.” They remind voters that nine million jobs have vanished and the typical American family saw $50,000 disappaer from its net worth, and its median household income dropped by more than $87 a week. Four years ago they came out for Barack Obama because they believed his pledge to govern with bold pragmatism and bipartisanship. But those hopes went unfulfilled.

Early yesterday morning NAACP activists took over a polling place in Houston. At an early voting place located on 6719 W. Montgomery Road in Houston, NAACP activists were seen advocating for President Barack Obama According to poll watcher Eve Rockford trained by voter integrity group True the Vote three NAACP members wearing labeled clothing began handing out bottled water to people in line and talking to voters about flying to Ohio to promote President Barack Obama. She approached Polling Supervisor Rose Cochran about what she was seeing inside the building and told her that was not appropriate behavior. She was ignored. Mathew Vadum reports for the American Thinker that Rockford saw "the NAACP began hand picking people out of the lines and began moving these people to the front of the line. The people were getting mad and asking why were these people being moved to the front of the line." When she called attention to these irregularities nothing was done about it.

While many Obama supporters are quick to loudly proclaim their support for a free, inclusive and honest election their actions often clearly demonstrate their insincerity. J. Christian Adams observes this year “their hypocrisy has reached a diabolical crescendo. The Obama campaign has sought to unleash law enforcement officials across the United States against law-abiding citizens who exercised state and federal laws to clean up the voter rolls and monitor the polls.” It is problem enough when our Attorney General refuses to enforce laws to maintain the voter rolls but even worse when the President’s allies try to intimidate people who clean up Holder’s mess by badgering state election officials.

Adams first witnessed Democrats voter intimidation tactics during 2004 at a rally in West Palm Beach, Florida during where Hollywood celebrity Danny DeVito stood with a union mob blocking the single entrance to the polls they made passage difficult to impossible, A SEIU member was posted in the parking lot checking people’s bumper stickers and as each voters exited his car the thug pointed and followed the person, announcing to the mob that he was a voter for Bush. At the time The National Reviewobserved “we’re already witnessing the organized bullying of voters in the hotly contested swing state of Florida. According to a disturbing report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel: ‘With early voting taking place in busy public places like City Halls and libraries, voters are voicing complaints of being blocked by political mobs, or being singled out for their political views. Others say they have been grabbed, screamed at and cursed by political partisans of all stripes.’” The question we need to ask is how much will the Democrats followers actions in 2012 mirror their behavior in 2004?

When a sixth grade class in Ejerlykkeskolen, a school in Odense, Denmark was disrupted the principle a woman named Birgitte Sonsby after the teacher had tried to control this group of students but could not and the after the out of control pupils laughed in authority’s face the principal said something she should not have, “I’m so damn tired of you Muslims destroying education!” Intensive coverage of this story has revealed that Sonsby had been named the best school principal in all of Denmark. The father of one of these boys denying others an education and, despite her apology, charged her to the police with racism and still wants Sonsby to be fired. Israpundt observes that after the father’s “accusation was reported, some people close to the situation defended Sonsby, testifying to her good qualities while acknowledging that she’d crossed a line. Others were quick to label her a racist and call for her head. Yet when you get right down to it, the only thing she’s guilty of, aside from using what may or may not be considered profanity, is voicing a forbidden truth.”

November 2, 2012

Barack Obama began his time in office riding a historic wave of public support which washed over a shattered Republican party but on Tuesday he will be fighting for his political life. Peggy Noonan begins her brilliant essay for The Wall Street Journal explaining his fall from such heights with praise for the way some politicians handled the catastrophe of Hurricane Sandy. She especially singles out Governor Chris Christie and Mayor Michael Bloomberg for making the storm about useful information along with help for the public and not about themselves and their politics .She asserts that “the winning politicians of the future will not be all about I. People don't like it. They don't want to have to wade past the ego to the info.”

In 2008 Obama won by 9-5 million votes and his approval rate was at 68% he had a Democratic House (256 – 178) and a cloture proof Democratic Senate with 60 members. However he faced an economic crash and two wars and those two big problems gave him broad latitude. Then it all changed and he lost the room because he made two terrible legislative decisions. The stimulus bill was a political disaster not because of cost but because of content a country facing crisis was offered the same old same old, pure pork aimed at reliable constituencies. The health care mistake was the second big thing that led to his present electoral predicament. He did not share the people’s sense urgency over jobs and the economy and the 2000 page Obamacare bill added to their misery and fear. They had to trust him that his program wouldn't raise their premiums, wouldn't limit their autonomy, wouldn't make a shaky system worse and he did not create the kind of trust it takes to do something so all-encompassing. Noonan concludes by saying “whatever happens, Mr. Obama will not own the room again as once he did. If he wins, we will see a different presidency—even more stasis, and political struggle—but not a different president.”

A poll of absentee voters living in Israel shows complete support for Mitt Romney. VoteIsrael a nonpartisan organization founded over the summer to encourage American absentee voting, conducted the poll among 1,572 of the approximately 80,000 people the organization registered to vote absentee did exit polling and found that “among those who said they were voting on ‘jobs and the economy’, Romney beat Obama 59 percent to 29 percent. Among those voting on Iran, the margin was even larger, 86 percent to 5 percent. Among those voting on Israel-related issues, such as Jerusalem and the peace process, Romney won 89 percent to 3.5 percent”.

Is General Carter Ham commander of U.S. Africa Command losing his job for trying to save the Americans besieged in Benghazi? Ham has been in his position for only a year an a half so the fact that the tour length for combatant commanders and Defense agency directors is three years causes many to answer that question with a yes.

November 1, 2012

The American media, the small part that is truthfully covering the incident in Benghazi, has correctly focused on just the four people who perished but they were not the only Americans put at risk and harmed.

November 1, 2012

Every confidence man knows that eventually the mark, in this case the American public, will get wise to the scam so the secret to their success is to have that take as long as possible. The same strategy applies in politics. Therefore in case of impeaching Bill Clinton a cooling out period which featured a slow release of the truth that would minimize public anger was required. Thomas Sowell argues “we are currently seeing another ‘cooling out’ process, growing out of the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11 this year. The belated release of State Department e-mails shows that the Obama administration knew, while the attack on the American consulate was still under way, that it was a coordinated, armed terrorist attack. They were getting reports from those inside the consulate who were under attack, as well as surveillance pictures from a camera on an American drone overhead.”

November 1, 2012

The American media has decided that in order to help Obama get reelected certain subjects such as the events in Benghazi are not to be talked about. Apparently Jay Leno is not following instructions.

November 1, 2012

The American news media does not seem to care what really happened to the American personal recently killed in our consulate in Benghazi. With the prominent exception of FOX news they are not reporting that those sacrificed repeatedly asked for help but were ignored by the Obama administration and then died. Jennifer Griffin reported “sources on the ground in Libya say they pleaded for support during the attack on the Benghazi consulate that led to the deaths of four Americans. They were allegedly told twice to ‘stand down.’ Worse, there are suggestions that significant military resources were available to counterattack, but requests for help were denied.” Jonah Goldberg in The New York Post observes “the White House’s concerted effort to blame the attack on a video crumbles, as do several other fraudulent claims.”

October 31, 2012

Four years ago the Nashua New Hampshire Telegraph came out in favor of electing Barack Obama now, however, it has decided the four years in office have shown him not worthy of being put back in office so it is endorsing Mitt Romney. They asserted “Washington is broken. In order to fix it, it will take a strong leader willing to roll up his sleeves and work directly with the heads of both parties to carve out the best possible solutions.”

October 31, 2012

Treachery and betrayal seems to be the administration’s response to the attack on our embassy in Libya and to cover it up seems to be our Obama supporting media’s response. When such an event is occurring a military response to suppress the attack and possibly rescue our people would be the correct course of action. That was Barack Obama’s as well as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta duty but they did not do it. According to a Fox News report based on several sources, the people under attack pled with the CIA for help three times during the attack and all three pleas were refused. Team Obama did nothing to save their lives. Leon Panetta replied to this revelation by say that "you don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on, without having some real-time information about what's taking place."

The problem with this excuse is that one or more drones were over the consulate during the attack sending back the information that Panetta says he needed. The American Spectator asserts “Obama's fingerprints are all over this refusal to come to the aid of our people when they were under attack. The CIA -- implicitly confirming the pleas for help -- denies that anyone in its chain of command rejected any such request.” It further argues “don't expect to hear much about Obama's conduct of the Benghazi incident before the election or after, if he is reelected. The effect of Obama's refusal to come to the aid of people under attack is best understood by the terrorists still walking the streets of Benghazi, and their allies around the world.”

October 29, 2012

When The Detroit News came out in favor of voting for Mitt Romney its editorial said “Americans will be making two choices when they cast their presidential ballots on Nov. 6. They will be selecting the individual who will lead the nation over the next four years, a period that promises to be every bit as challenging as the past four. They also will be charting a long-term course for America.” The newspaper then contrasts Obama coming into office riding a wave of promised hope and change which he did not deliver on and Romney who presents a creditable plan which now offers the best hope of changing the nation's fate which still needs to be done.

The front of today’s Des Moines Register does an excellent job of summing up the state of the campaign so far.

October 25, 2012

Barack Obama is less than forthcoming with the press these days so when the editors at the Des Moines Register managed to pin him down and even elicit some news that is noteworthy. He told them in his second term he wanted to achieve immigration reform and reach a budget agreement with the Republicans that included tax restructuring. However, his just released 20-page brochure on his second-term agenda, makes little or no mention of these plans. His inconsistent portrait of what a second by him will mean for the American people is perhaps why the White House originally tried to make this interview off the record until the Register editors objected in a public blog post.

However the most telling reason to be skeptical about his reelection was Obama’s answer the question “whether he regrets pursuing ObamaCare and other liberal social priorities in his first two years rather than focusing on the economy.” He answered "Absolutely not, remember the context. First of all, Mitch McConnell has imposed an ironclad filibuster from the first day I was in office. And that's not speculation.". However as the editors pointed out Mr. McConnell was then and still is the Senate Minority Leader, and in 2009 he had all of 40 votes. Mr. Obama could have pursued any agenda he wanted, and they wanted to know why he didn't focus on the economy first. Yet Mr. Obama's instinctive reaction is to blame Republican obstructionism that never happened. The Wall Street Journal declares “Mr. Obama didn't really answer the Register's question, so we will. He didn't focus on the economy because he didn't and still doesn't understand how the private economy works. He doesn't understand that incentives matter, or how government policies and regulation can sabotage growth. He really believes that government is the engine of economic prosperity.”

October 25, 2012

Dorothy Rabinowitz begins her outstanding essay encapsulating the Obama presidency for The Wall Street Journal by referencing the film A Guide for the Married Man wherein a man taking lessons on how to cheat on his wife is given the advice Deny! Deny! Deny! and Obama has certainly taken such advice to heart. Peter Ferrara, Director of Entitlement and Budget Policy at the Heartland Institute, does not want to actually call the president a liar however he admits that to describe the Obama White House communications strategy he has used the term "Calculated Deception" many times before.

Most of the people who watched this latest debate do not know that Obama has asked the Pentagon for plans to cut America's remaining nuclear deterrent by up to 80%. Ferrara argues that “the real problem is not President Obama. It is his supporters and contributors who are willing to blindly support this dishonesty, after four years of accelerating decline and failure, which will only continue in the second term. Obama is Marxist royalty by heritage, born and bred. Check the public record. Under his leadership, the Democrat party has become a Marxist party as well. Is that what a majority of Americans want? Despite the lies, so well supported by the Democrat-controlled media, the American people seem to be waking from their dangerous slumber.”

October 24, 2012

Four years ago the promise of hope and change looked like a good idea. In its editorial endorsing Mitt Romney The Boston Herald argues however, “what this nation got in Barack Obama was a president who used an economic crisis to further his redistributionist agenda — and, not surprisingly, failed miserably at restoring American prosperity. Oh, he brought change all right — to a government-knows-best philosophy that has given us four years of high unemployment, higher gas prices, a $16 trillion deficit, and a job-killing regulatory environment.”

October 24, 2012

During the third presidential debate President Obama cited his 2008 visit to Israel’s Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, to establish his pro-Israeli views and answer criticism from Mitt Romney. That same visit was made by millions of people and hundreds of world leaders during that same year, Anne Bayefsky asserts that “invoking it as a means to establish the President’s pro-Israel credentials is an insult to the intelligence of voters who care about the welfare of the Jewish state”. To illustrate her point she goes on to provide a very extensive list of the anti-Israeli moves, policies, and insults that have been a prominent feature of Obama’s four years in office.

Attorney General Eric Holder went to the Justice Department voting section yesterday to meet with the attorneys who will be enforcing federal election law. He intended to take photos with the staff which would be delivered to them with a personalized note. Media Research Center reporter Joe Schoffstall tried to attend the event and ask Holder if this was correct behavior especially right before the election coming from someone whose administration had so loudly and constantly criticized the previous administration for politicizing the Justice Department. The reporter was denied entry to the affair and afterwards on a public sidewalk he asked “Mr. Attorney General, do you think is appropriate to be taking pictures with DOJ lawyers who will be enforcing election laws during President Obama’s reelection?” Holder turned his head and walked away then a Justice Department employee a security officer in Holder’s detail aggressively confronted and threatened Schoffstall. J. Christian Adams argues “at issue is whether it is appropriate for the attorney general to travel to meet with these lawyers, allow them to pose for individual, personalized pictures with him, and give them instructions — all within days of an election when Holder’s own job is on the line.”

An e-mail circulating the internet purports to contain excerpts from Lee Iacocca’s 2007 book Where Have All the Leaders Gone? and the website has given this communication a rating of mixture of fact and fiction but is still very much worth reading These thoughts were originally aimed at George Bush but they still have a great deal of truth when directed at Barack Obama.

Roger L. Simon says that should happen during the presidential debate on foreign policy. He suggests “what I’d like to hear is Barack Obama resigning over Benghazi, the most extreme public mishandling of an attack on American personnel ever, certainly in my lifetime. If I (or most people) had been president and something like that happened on my (our) watch — and then I had lied about it myself while urging others to cover up — I would be so ashamed of myself I wouldn’t be able to come out in public”.

October 22, 2012

In the first presidential debate of the 2012 election Barack Obama’s very poor performance did more to make this race close than any other example in the 52 year history of such events. In the second event Mitt Romney held his own despite the self-disgrace of moderator Candy Crowley. However, he missed the opportunity to make three very important points.

If he does that in the last encounter he may be able to turn a victory into a mandate. In the first place despite the subservience of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid Obama has not passed a budget since April 9, 2009.This failure has greatly contributed to four consecutive years of over a trillion dollar deficit. The second point is that Obama’s constant complaining about excessive partisanship has united both Democratic and Republicans on one thing their opposition to the president’s own budget proposals and in February his latest attempt was unanimously rejected by both the House and the Senate. The third things he needs to mention is that when Obama told the Russian Prime Minister that he would have more flexibility after the election that may mean an unpleasant surprise for the American people.

Mitt Romney displays sense of humor on Wednesday night in New York City.

October 19, 2012

Even though making foreign policy an election issue is hard to do Mitt Romney should continue reminding voters about the death of U.S. ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens he deserves no less. His betrayal in Benghazi was a tragedy to him and his family as well as the rest of us. As he watched security arrangements deteriorate over a period of a few weeks he implored Washington to help him but was denied even the 1936-vintage DC-3 assigned to American diplomats for a quick escape because gas money was unavailable however, $108,000 was available to install a charging station for a fleet of Chevrolet Volts at the embassy in Vienna. It was a question of green priorities.

The administration therefore to hide the fact that they callously left our personal in the lurch began spinning tales about what this terrorist attack was really all about. Wesley Pruden argues that “the president revealed himself in the aftermath of Benghazi to be either terminally naive, which would require an absence of judgment, or terminally incompetent. Neither quality is exactly what anyone wants in the White House. Or it could be something worse.”

It was a shock to read about the death of Tom Szasz in the article that Jeff Schaler just sent me. Jeff and I, along with multitudes of others around the world, looked upon Tom as one of our heroes and one of our good friends. Tom was a giant in every way, except of course in physical stature. Like one of his intellectual mates, Milton Friedman, he was short in actual height but not in the reach of his ideas and his personality. Both men were decent and kind human beings. Both were strong opponents of drug prohibition and the war on drugs. Both explained their opposition in different ways but in equally powerful terms.

The new of Tom’s death forced me to go back and find my copy of a book published by the Drug Policy Foundation when I was its president. (DPF of course is now called the Drug Policy Alliance .) It also made me recall the history of DPF and of the wonderful events it sponsored some decades ago. One of these that I set up, with the help of my colleague, Kevin Zeese, the vice president, was the annual International Conference for Drug Policy Reform. Such conferences are still carried on by DPA. Another of the ideas that I came up with back then involved annual achievement awards for work in drug policy reform. Remember that not too long ago those who proposed changes in the drug laws were often viewed as irresponsible hippies and drug abusers. As I often said I wanted to make opposition to the drug laws decent and respectable. Immodestly speaking, I suspect that I, along with many other good folks, succeeded in that effort at least to some extent. One of those good folks, indeed a key one, was Rich ard J. Dennis of Chicago who gave the foundation so much moral and financial support in the early days.

At the fifth annual conference in 1991 I had the pleasure of officiating at the presentation of awards to Tom and Milton. Tom received the Alfred R. Lindesmith Award for Achievement in the Field of Scholarship and Writing. Milton received the Rich ard J. Dennis Drugpeace Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Drug Policy Reform. Both made major speeches at the conference and both made appearances on the DPF television show we launched: “ America ’s Drug Forum.” Those speeches and the television appearances helped trigger our idea to produce a book on the ideas of the two wonderful men.

The book is Milton Friedman & Thomas S. Szasz, ON LIBERTY AND DRUGS: Essays on the Free Market and Prohibition, which was published in 1992 by The Drug Policy Foundation Press in Washington, D.C. The book lists Arnold S. Trebach and Kevin B. Zeese as the editors and the authors of the preface. Most of the heavy lifting on the book was done by a young staff member, Rob Stewart, helped by Dave Fratello and Kennington Wall. The main content of the book deals of course with the thoughts and writing of Friedman and Szasz. As I look over the book today I am again impressed with the power of the distinctive ideas and approaches of these two kindly giants.

Friedman wrote, “The case for prohibiting drugs is exactly as strong and as weak as the case for prohibiting people from overeating.”

Szasz wrote, “I favor free trade in drugs for the same reason the Founding fathers favored free trade in ideas.”

Friedman left us several years ago. Now Szasz has done so. These are great losses. Their spirits and ideas live on in the spirits and memories of those of us who remember them so fondly.

Jack Welch CEO of General Electric caused a great deal of controversy and a strong reaction from Obama partisans when he questioned the latest unemployment figure. He said the reported unemployment rate in September of 7.8% does not make sense. Welch argues “the Obama campaign and its supporters, including bigwigs like David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs, along with several cable TV anchors, would like you to believe that BLS data are handled like the gold in Fort Knox, with gun-carrying guards watching their every move, and highly trained, white-gloved super-agents counting and recounting hourly.” But in reality the data is collected by census workers by phone in 70% of the cases. Some of the questions only allow unambiguous answers others much less so. He further points out “the possibility of subjectivity creeping into the process is so pervasive that the BLS's own Handbook of Methods has a full page explaining the limitations of its data, including how non-sampling errors get made, from ‘misinterpretation of the questions’ to ‘errors made in the estimations of missing data’. Bottom line: To suggest that the input to the BLS data-collection system is precise and bias-free is—well, let's just say, overstated.” He ends by saying “the coming election is too important to be decided on a number. Especially when that number seems so wrong.”

Republican and Democratic partisans argue strenuously about whether or not returning Barack Obama to office will be good for our economy. Now a business executive directly responsible for hiring people has told us, and he should know, reelecting the President will cause unemployment at his firm. David Siegel, the founder and CEO of real estate company Westgate told his employees in an e-mail that their jobs were safe at the moment however “what does threaten your job however, is another 4 years of the same Presidential administration.”

Thomas Stephen Szasz personal friend and colleague as well as arguably the world’s foremost psychiatrist passed away on September 8, 2012, Charles Krauthammer wrote “Szasz is the kind of author no one reads but everyone knows about.” Unfortunately, too many health professionals have no idea of who he was but nevertheless he will remain very important to the fields of science, medicine, ethics, law — and particularly mental health — for centuries to come.

Jeffrey A. Schaler and Richard E. Vatz suggest that perhaps, his greatest contribution was to “adopt the premise of Rudolf Virchow, the Austrian pathologist who defined disease consistent with all serious pathologists. A disease refers to a histological (tissue) lesion. Mental illnesses, therefore, do not exist because the mind (mental component) does not exist except as a construct.” Mental illness may refer to bad or destructive behavior but this behavior is an expression of choice, not brain pathology. They argue that “this simple truth — that bad, illegal and/or self-destructive behavior is not caused by illness — is one of the most difficult scientific and medical facts for psychiatrists and their cohorts (psychologists, social workers, counselors, etc.) to grasp. It is a particularly inconvenient truth for those who seek to exculpate criminal behavior via the insanity plea, and those Dr. Szasz fought all his life who believe in involuntary incarceration for those who may have offended others but have committed no crime.”

They conclude “the impact of Dr. Szasz's heroic life — he was consistently the object of relentless personal attacks — will continue to influence the way we think about liberty and responsibility. He claimed that the greatest sin, according to government, is individual autonomy, for autonomy renders government powerless; and the greatest virtue, according to government, is obedience to authority. Dr. Szasz's life articulated the positive correlation between liberty and responsibility.”

Last night the Obama campaign released an e-mail falsely claiming that the Romney tax plan would require that people in the m idle class pay more or ballooning the deficit. However Princeton professor Harvey Rosen tells The Weekly Standard the during Wednesday’s debate President was misrepresenting his paper on the Romney tax plan. In fact he says “Romney's plan would neither require a net tax hike on the middle class nor a tax reduction for the rich under "plausible" growth assumptions.”

Wednesday night’s presidential debate was of especial concern to the people of Nevada which suffers with a huge 22% unemployment rate. Their impressions of President Barack Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney have been largely driven by negative advertisements and politically partisan rhetoric. During this confrontation the voters there saw these two men for the first time in a face to face meeting defend and contrast their ideas for how to grow the American economy and manage the executive branch of the federal government. Now they will be better able to choose which man would be more likely to spur investment in businesses and encourage companies to hire.

An editorial asserts “on Wednesday night, Nevadans watched Mr. Romney trounce the president. The evidence Mr. Romney systematically laid out exposed how the president's top-down interventions have virtually paralyzed our economy.” It further argues “Nevadans need a president with a vision and political philosophy capable of restoring ingenuity, competition and excellence to our education and health care systems, of paring back the budget deficit and the explosive growth of our debt, of keeping energy affordable, of bringing back jobs and prosperity not just here, but in every American city with residents who want enough economic security to be able to take a Las Vegas vacation.” Romney argued that a pro-growth tax and regulatory reform are the ways to achieve this. Obama has a much different vision for our economy and he asserts that higher taxes on investors, job creators and small businesses as well as borrowing more money to fund public sector jobs will improve things. In 2008 Obama presented himself as a uniting agent of change yet his two most consequential moves, the economic stimulus and his health care reform law, were rushed through a Democratic Congress without a single Republican vote.

President Obama is facing increased opposition from among the ranks of U.S. intelligence agencies. Career officers are concerned about what some them are saying is a “cover up” of intelligence information about terrorism in North Africa. Information was held back from senior officials and the public including numerous classified reports showing clear Iranian support for jihadists throughout the tumultuous North Africa and Middle East region, as well as notably widespread al Qaeda penetration into Egypt and Libya. Bill Gertz argues that “the Obama administration sought to keep the information from becoming public to avoid exposing what the officials say is a Middle East policy failure by Obama.”

October 7, 2012

In order to understand the first presidential debate it would be useful to examine their real roles during this encounter. Barack Obama played the abandoned son while Mitt Romney played the dutiful father and this father son like conflict is being played out on the election stage. Roger L. Simon observes “the face-to-face clash of these two men is almost out of Greek drama. Obama must rage against or embrace the man who represents what he most dearly needed and never had. If this really were Aeschylus or Sophocles, Obama would be caught between those conflicting goals and end up plucking his own eyes out. But of course it is not. It is something much more quotidian – an American presidential election. And much as we, the Greek chorus, might have pity for Obama, it is ourselves we must pity and therefore reject him.”

Recent polling data from swing voters in key states Ohio, Virginia, Wisconsin and Florida shows that his positions on the abortion issue could cost him his reelection. Voters are less likely to support him because he included taxpayer funding of abortion in Obamacare, they disfavor him due to his vote against a law to give equal treatment to babies born alive after a failed abortion, and they oppose his mandate that forces faith-based institutions to provide insurance that covers birth control.

September 26, 2012

Barack Obama is fond of boasting about his foreign policy skill and he will address the UN general assembly on September 25 in an attempt to amplify that claim. On CBS Sunday night he said he now knew you have “to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts.” However, what the world now knows as about the murder of our ambassador to Libya shows that he does not practice what he preaches. His administration and our UN representative Susan Rice’s continued insistence that the violence was caused by a you tube video, no matter disreputable, has become increasingly hard to believe. Her implacable resolve that the ‘video-done-it’ has been widely ridiculed, and is now disputed by the White House itself. In fact, the administration’s video-fixated apologies appear to have been fueling the flames.

Anne Bayefsky argues that “for over three years, the president has burnished his international affairs credentials via a steady stream of misinformation, much of it generated from his diplomatic corps. Bogus UN ‘success’ stories can therefore be expected to factor into tomorrow’s oration.” Therefore Susan Rice has been and continues telling the lie about the power of that video because “President Obama fully intends to appear before the UN General Assembly and tell the world his priorities are: preserving American values like free speech not undermining it, educating merely misinformed Muslim rioters not appeasing them, strengthening alliances not weakening our allies, protecting American security not disabling our defenses, and assuring American voters that our ‘tiny’ enemies are on the run and we’re now well-loved notwithstanding a spontaneous murder here and there.”

Glenn Beck tells a story that gives us true insight into Mitt Romney’s real character, Of course the rest of the media will not share it with us.

September 21, 2012

With the mainstream news media clearly against him supporters of Mitt Romney have to find other ways to campaign, Therefore they are returning to the time test method of sending out his message through highway billboards.

. September 21, 2012

While the American media is concentrating on turning the death of an American ambassador to the political advantage of Barack Obama over Mitt Romney the foreign press is reporting that the Obama administration could have prevented this tragedy. The rest of the world knows that the Obama administration knew about the planned-attack on the Benghazi, Libya Embassy where four Americans, including United States Ambassador Christopher Steven were murdered. Scott Paulson one of the few American commentators to deal with the real story says that “all attention must be given to the more-than-strong suggestions that the Libyan attack didn’t ‘just happen’ to have happened on September 11 – the commemorative day of the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City – but were planned well-in-advance.”

A number of knowledgeable sources are widely circulating reports that the State Department received knowledge of the attack in Benghazi as early as September 9 – two days before the four Americans were killed. However no warning was given to persons in the U.S. Embassies in Cairo or Benghazi after the State Department became aware that these attacks would take place.

The reason Obama supporters hate the Andrew Breitbart website so much is because it keeps reminding them of all his broken promises and the lies he told to get elected in the first place. Like the one he told about tensions with Islam easing when he was in office.

September 14, 2012

The attacks on Tuesday against the American missions in Cairo and Benghazi fit an all too familiar pattern. Once again they feature Islamist intimidation and Western appeasement. The Obama Administration’s response to the murder of American diplomats is best described as prostrate and leading to further such assaults. Daniel Pipes cogently argues the only way to stop this cycle is for governments to stand firmly on principle: "Citizens have freedom of speech, which specifically means the right to insult and annoy. The authorities will protect this right. Muslims do not enjoy special privileges but are subject to the same free-speech rules as everyone else. Leave us alone."

The mainstream media is not interested in informing the people about the truth during the next election. Instead their goal is to present a pre-determined portrait of the candidates One journalist reveals he or she not concerned with the answers just the right question when caught saying “I’m just trying to make sure that we’re just talking about, no matter who he calls on we’re covered on the one question.”

September 13, 2012

Regarding the recent attack on the American consulate in Libya the American news media is agreed on only one thing Mitt Romney is clearly the political loser here. This instant conventional wisdom is a fortunate turn of events for Barack Obama considering that he has very badly mishandled this entire situation. Obama continued his pattern of appeasement in the face of violence. When his embassy in Cairo issued a statement which condemned "the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims" instead of the radical Islamists who killed American personal because they were offended by a movie they had never even seen. Obama is more concerned with “the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others” than he is with those who feel they have the right to murder anyone who does not submit to or even criticize their own religious beliefs.

September 12, 2012

Right before the attack in Libya which killed our ambassador Barack Obama skipped his daily intelligence briefing. The White House declined to provide an official public calendar for September 8-10. This is not an infrequent occurrence according to a study by the Government Accountability Institute he has only attended 43.8 % of his daily presidential briefings.

September 12, 2012

After the events of yesterday during which a U.S. Ambassador was killed in Libya the mainstream media advised Mitt Romney to keep silent about it and give Obama a pass on the matter. However, he was right when he did not take their counsel. The Weekly Standard on the other hand argues that “Romney deserves credit for emphasizing today that the events in Cairo and Benghazi remind us of the need for American leadership. He refused to cater to what must be a widespread (and understandable, if short-sighted) ‘let's just get out of that crazy part of the world’ sentiment among the public. He spoke in the tradition of conservative internationalism.”

For sixty-three years Israel has remained in existence and during that entire time the country has been at constant war with its Arab neighbors trying to keep them from achieving their main purpose destroying it and killing its people. Despite this tremendous handicap war torn Israel has become a symbol of pioneering developing many sorts of important technologies which will benefit all of mankind and may one day prove to be the savior of our earth.

These widely varied innovations include advances in medical care, growing food crops in mostly sand, a city wide electric car system with a network of re-charging points and battery changing stations, production of solar and geothermal energy, generating electricity from the pressure of traffic, drip-irrigation systems, the recycling of waste water, microprocessors, water desalination countering the creeping desertification of the world, and anything else that seems to come to mind.

During the Democratic convention President Obama received much praise for saving Detroit. However, Michael Moore strongly disagrees with that assertion. Moore argues that bailing out the large corporations General Motors and Chrysler is not the same thing as saving the city of Detroit and the people who live there. He continues “Detroit (and Flint and Pontiac and Saginaw) are not defined by the global corporations who suck our towns dry and then split town to make more money elsewhere (except, of course, they continued to design and built crap cars, so eventually they didn't make the money at all). These cities in Michigan are about the people who live here, and in the process of 'saving Detroit,' Mr. Obama had to fire thousands of these people, and reduce the benefits and pensions of those who were left."

After listening to a great deal of inane media chatter criticizing his wonderful appearance at the Republican National Convention the former mayor of Carmel finally spoke out about the event to the town’s newspaper. He told the Carmel Pine Cone this week that “President Obama is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people. Romney and Ryan would do a much better job running the country, and that’s what everybody needs to know. I may have irritated a lot of the lefties, but I was aiming for people in the middle.” He wanted to make three points that not everyone in Hollywood is on the left, Obama has broken a lot of promises since he took office and that people should feel free to get rid of any politician who is not doing a good job and Eastwood succeeded in his goal.

When Roger L. Simon watches the video at the beginning of this column he is both elated and frightened at the same time. He is happy because he is "watching a bogus public dumb show come apart, at least temporarily" but he is horrified because he is “staring, again at least temporarily, into the gaping yaw of the 1930s.” For a second he realizes yes it could happen here again because a sizable and serious group on the Democratic National Convention floor was shouting and applauding against the Jews. Conventions these days are so highly scripted and organized it is hard to believe that Obama did not know about the platform in advance and the fact that they are designed specifically to encourage group think is very troubling. “The platform reflected the manner in which Obama regards Israel, disdain tempered by desire for Jewish votes and money.”

The Democratic Party will officially adopt an extreme position on abortionn in any month. It’s platform will endorse “a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay.” In 1992 Bill Clinton said abortion should be "safe, legal, and rare." In 2012 Barack Obama says that a taxpayer irregardless of how he or she feels about the morality of the issue should pay for an abortion and we all know how rare something becomes once the taxpayers begin funding it.

The DNC website is telling voters big bold lies about the Democratic atrocious record on civil rights. People should remember that it was Democrat Woodrow Wilson who showed “Birth of a Nation” which glorified the KKK in the White House and then segregated the federal work force. In 1964 it was the Democrats not the Republicans who opposed the Civil Rights Act. There is no mention of these truths and other ugly historical facts in the revamped new Obama supporting DNC website. Instead of telling truthful history the history section tells the first lie: ”For more than 200 years, our party has led the fight for civil rights…..” The second falsehood comes in the issues section where they say: “Democrats have a long and proud history of defending Civil Rights and expanding opportunity for all Americans.” Unless you consider incurring astronomical amounts of federal debt and destroying the value of our currency in the process as creating opportunity. The Democratic Party’s historical political support for slavery, segregation, and lynching has no home on its website.

A video telling their story skips from Jefferson to the 1900s therefore the six party platforms between 1840 and 1860 that specifically supported slavery are missing. Their opposition to the 13th,14th, and 15th amendments to the Constitution are also gone. Between 1912 and 1928 their platforms opposed anti-lynching laws supported by the Republican Party a fact also not told. The website also lies when it says: "Democrats are unwavering in our support of equal opportunity for all Americans. That's why we've worked to pass every one of our nation's Civil Rights laws…."

September 5, 2012

My hope is that the story is untrue and that more information will reveal that the party I supported almost my entire life has not totally succumbed to the most radical claims of the jihadists. Yet, this story claims that the Democratic Party platform has deleted previous references to Jerusalem as being the capital of Israel . To anyone who cares about the future of America , not to mention Israel , this is terrible news, which I hope will turn out to be just a false rumor.

As Wesley Pruden observes the intense scrutiny given to the possibility of misstatements during the Republican convention in Tampa will also be a feature of the Democratic meeting in Charlotte. The first one seen occurred on Face the Nation where Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley was asked the famous question can you honestly say “are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The governor than did the only thing he could he used the main Obama campaign strategy and blamed George Bush for our present situation. He was back the next morning with “context” and “clarification” lamely saying we are much better off.

However, the biggest mistake is yet to come when Bill Clinton is allowed to give the keynote address. He will remind the convention of happier days than these. Bubba had his faults, but better a loose zipper than a tight economy. His speech, which will likely be all about Bubba, will be the only “wow!” moment of the week.

September 4, 2012

During the Republican convention the speech that did perhaps the most to make the case for the election of Mitt Romney over Barrack Obama was given by a black woman who describes herself as a liberal Democrat. Ron Radosh argues that “with the Democrats in an all-out war based on painting the Republican nominees as the devil incarnate who hope to destroy the well-being of the poor, the dispossessed, women, and all minority groups, the effort to destroy the Democratic and left-wing narrative should be front and center for the Republican Party and its supporters.” So it is no surprise that MSNBC did not carry the important testimony of Jane Edmonds, Mitt Romney’s secretary of Workforce when he was in charge in Massachusetts but the fact that the other networks including Fox did not let the American People hear what she had to say was a gross oversight and a disservice to viewers.

She cited the late Stephen Convey who writes about two “kinds of people: one type is all about themselves and their success. The other type works as hard as they can — and certainly succeeds, but their success is motivated by doing good for others. That’s how I see Governor Romney. He is authentic.” Just her presence there as an African-American female decidedly undercut the Democratic narrative in one master stroke.

The New York Times recently carried a feature article calling attention to a UN report predicting a bleak future for Gaza. Of course this article skips over the root cause for their dire forecast, At The Huffington Post David Harris points out that such an outcome is by no means inevitable but the UN document fit in well with a narrative that “has taken root, abetted by many in the international community, and especially Gaza's chorus of enablers, that the residents of Gaza have no responsibility whatsoever for their current situation. Rather, it's all a function of outside -- read Israeli -- design.”

This week a German doctor filed a criminal complaint against a rabbi for preforming a ritual circumcision on a Jewish male infant. A court in Cologne had recently outlawed the religious practice. This has also been made illegal in both Austria and Switzerland. Scandinavian governments are also considering limiting the ceremonial of circumcision which has constituted one of the foundational rituals of Judaism for four thousand years. This is not any kind of child protection action but clearly an attack on a specific religion and that can be seen by the fact that Sweden, Norway and Switzerland have already banned kosher slaughter. These countries do not object to killing animals for food they just object to the Jewish religious aspect of the practice a measure banning circumcision was place on the ballot in San Francisco punishable by a $1,000 fine and up to a year in prison. Sponsors of the measure distributed anti-Semitic materials depicting rabbis performing circumcisions as villains. Caroline Glick argues that “the people involved in banning or attempting to ban circumcision are not on the political fringe of their societies. They are part of a leftist establishment. They are doctors and lawyers, judges and politicians. This doesn’t mean that all their fellow leftists are anti-Semites. But it does mean the political Left in the Western world feels comfortable keeping company with anti-Semites.”

Wesley Pruden is recommending a new book by recovering addict Craig Karpel it offers a 12-step program, patterned after the program that has rescued thousands of town drunks. He begins by saying “I’m an Obamaholic. Welcome to what Alcoholics Anonymous would call a ‘meeting in print.’ We’re here to admit to each other and to ourselves that the Obama presidency isn’t Obama’s fault - it’s ours. We should be impeached for having elected him.” It is titled 12-Step Guide for the Recovering Obama Voters, published by HarperCollins Broadside Books. The work makes the case that the election was the choice of biography over accomplishment the triumph of empty promises over acheivements.

Much is being made about Missouri congressman Akin’s ill-informed comments giving new energy to the claim that the GOP is waging a war on women. However Barack Obama has also expressed very radical views on abortion making him out of touch with what most Americans believe. Rich Lowry reminds us that “in 2007, he told the Planned Parenthood Action Fund that his first act as president would be signing the Freedom of Choice Act. The act would enshrine in federal law a right to abortion more far-reaching than in Roe v. Wade and eliminate basically all federal and state-level restrictions on abortion. This isn’t a point its supporters contest; it’s one they brag about. The National Organization for Women says it would “sweep away hundreds of anti-abortion laws [and] policies.”

The Democrats regular attacks on PYL Ryan’s Medicare reform plan include the false claim that it would force seniors to pay $6,400 a year more for health care. This number is based on a now out-of-date Congressional Budget Office estimate of the gap between the cost of health care a decade from now, in 2022. In addition this analysis has nothing to do with the current Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan plan. In fact costs could nonetheless fall over time because seniors would have the incentive to switch to the most competitively priced Medicare plan.

Newsweek’s cover story this week is by is by Niall Ferguson he me makes a very strong case that president Obama needs to leave his office. Of course the magazine’s editorial staff does not agree with him. His telling list of intense failure including GDP growth that slowed to a 1.8% crawl in 2011, chronically high unemployment, the despised health-care reform law, and a $5 trillion increase to the national debt does not sway them.

Candidate Romney’s emphasis on dismantling ObamaCare can be seen as more than a deliberate policy program but also as a mea culpa. RomneyCare provides an excellent laboratory for seeing what happens to health care when the government takes over. For example a recent study by the Doctor Patient Medical Association tells us that 83 % of doctors have considered stopping practice because of ObamaCare.

When 60 Minutes ran its story on Sunday night about Paul Ryan and Medicare it left out some important parts. In fact it was “Mediscaring” people in order to help Obama in fact the clip I link to here still covers up their dishonesty. Romney answers the program’s partisanship by saying “there’s only one president that I know of in history that robbed Medicare, $716 billion to pay for a new risky program of his own that we call Obamacare.” Ryan adds “my mom is a Medicare senior in Florida. Our point is we need to preserve their benefits, because government made promises to them that they’ve organized their retirements around. In order to make sure we can do that, you must reform it for those of us who are younger. And we think these reforms are good reforms. That has bipartisan origins. They started from the Clinton commission in the late ’90s.” A fact not prominently featured in CBS’s story.

Obama’s odious attempt to frighten old people old people into voting for him does not necessarily have to be successful. In this case the most effective strategy seems to be the old saying that a the best defense is a good offense.

A Super-Pac backing President Obama has perhaps reached a new low in American political discourse. They are running a completely dishonest ad linking Mitt Romney to the death of the wife of a laid off steelworker. What is particularly relevant about this vile smear calling Romney a murderer is that the man’s wife died in 2006 years after his factory closed down. They really cannot attack Romney for being a Mormon so they have opted instead to falsely accuse him of murder. On PJ Media Allahpundit observes that “I have to say, though, it’s a comfort to me to know that Hopenchange will be well and truly shattered come November, no matter what happens on election day. Even if he pulls it out, after a campaign like this the idea that he and his team represent some sort of new, more exalted form of politics will be fully exposed for the joke that it is. His second term won’t be better, but at least people won’t be kidding themselves anymore, if any still are. There’s some small consolation in that.”

Left wing activists are very afraid of Representative Allen West and he is their foremost congressional target because as one professional organizer suggests he poses an existential threat to progressivism. They fear the famously outspoken retired Army lieutenant colonel is going to start to define what the Republican Party stands for. If West’s brand of politics finds traction nationwide the upcoming contest will shift rightward and he will create the new normal for the GOP if they do not succeed in taking him down and their campaign of harassment is well underway with the formation of a new super pac for that express purpose.

Mitt Romney the all but official Republican Party choice for president delivered a terrific speech before the Jerusalem Foundation today. He did a masterful job of refuting the president’s vision. His opening statement where he talked about stepping “foot into Israel is to step foot into a nation that began with an ancient promise made in this land" presents a stark contrast to the Obama’s weak statement in Cairo about "the aspiration for a Jewish homeland [being] rooted in a tragic history." Romney also came out and plainly called Jerusalem the capital of Israel. He also made much mentioned of Israel’s extraordinary ties to the United States.

However his final words "May God bless America, and may he bless and protect the Nation of Israel" made the greatest impression on Daniel Pipes and he asks “when last did a politician ask the Lord to protect another country and not his own?”

Christine Brennan of USA TODAY points out that the Olympics has steadfastly refused to honor the Israelis killed in 1972. World leaders such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, “they all knew last week that there would once again be no tribute in the Opening Ceremony. But then came this other moment of silence. When Frank VanderSloot, an Idaho businessman who last year contributed to a group supporting Mitt Romney an Obama campaign website in April sent a message to those who'd donate to the president's opponent which named Mr. VanderSloot and seven other private donors and slurred them as having "less-than-reputable" records. The American people had thought that White House enemies lists with people targeted for retribution like Daniel Ellsberg had disappeared when Richard Nixon left office, However, in this case as with racial violence between blacks and whites Barack Obama is clearly trying to recreate the past.

Mr. VanderSloot received a stark lesson on what means to be in Obama’s presidential enemies inventory when he found an investigator digging to unearth his divorce records who was also a recent employee of Senate Democrats—and worked for a for-hire opposition research firm. He was also informed by the federal government on April 21 that his tax records had been "selected for examination" by the Internal Revenue Service. The audit includes his wife and not only one but two years of past filings, 2008 and 2009. The is 63 years old has been working since he was in his teens and tells us he has never subject to a federal tax audit before. Mr. VanderSloot also received a message from Obama’s Department of Labor telling him it would be doing an audit of workers he employs on his Idaho-based cattle ranch under the federal visa program for temporary agriculture workers. The H-2A program allows tens 0f thousands of temporary workers and he employees only three, They are all from Mexico and they have worked on his ranch, which has only a total of 20 employees, for five years yet Vandersloot is considered a fit subject for this audit too,

John Stossel argues that “we don't know what happened, and that's the problem. Entrusted with extraordinary powers, Mr. Obama has the duty to protect and defend all Americans—regardless of political ideology. By having his campaign target a private citizen for his politics, the president forswore those obligations. He both undermined public faith in federal institutions and put his employees in an impossible situation.”

Barack Obama should stay out of Roanoke Virginia it seems to be a place where he is especially mistake prone. Recently it was silly gaffe, nicely covered up by his compliant mainstream media, where he suggested people seek medical attention from paralegals. However, this time he gave a speech there that could cost him his reelection by unintentionally proving the conservatives’ case for limited government. He implied that some businessmen refuse to pay for public works from which they benefit by presenting a thesis with three elements. These assumptions must all be true for his argument to remain standing.

He argues that the public programs mentioned in his discourse are a significant part of the federal budget, that the business owner does not already pay his or her fair share, and thirdly that the specific public benefits are a federal issue, rather than a local issue. Smaller government is not the same thing as no government yet the fiscal conservative/tea party/libertarian position is constantly being falsely presented by Obama and his allies as being for anarchy. Yes, it is true that people do benefit from certain taxpayer-funded collectivist government infrastructure programs. Therefore, government expenditures should be limited to just those projects because most government activities now hinder, constrict or penalize entrepreneurial endeavor, benefit some people to the detriment of others, or waste money on bureaucracy, overhead or ill-considered expenditures that end up indebting the nation and by extension all Americans.

When Obama makes his assertion business people could not be successful without the assistance of government he cites four necessary functions education, transportation, public safety, and the internet. However, when you analyze federal budget numbers you see only 23,4% of the money goes to benefit the public and Obama’s first assumption disappears. The top 1% of taxpayers pay 37%of all federal taxes more than enough to fund the essentials described by him and the second postulation is shown to invalid. Education, public safety and roads are covered by local not federal taxes and the third leg of his very shaky stool collapses.

When Thomas Sowell first saw the book tiled White Girls Bleed a Lot: The Return of Race Riots to America by Colin Flaherty even though he had not read the work or seen it reviewed he instantly knew what the subject was about because during the course of revision and expansion for his own volume Intellectuals and Society he had come across this phrase before. The words came from a mob of young blacks who attacked whites at random during a Fourth of July celebration in Milwaukee last year. Appallingly such race riots have occurred in other cities across the United States recently and the mainstream media has largely ignored this growing trend.

When examples of such racial violence are too widespread and too well known local politicians and local media try to cover up by talking about unspecified "young people" attacking unspecified victims for unknown reasons. However videos of these instances often document both the racial nature of these incidents and the racial hostility expressed by the attackers. Race riots no longer seem to be news and ignoring ethnic aggression only guarantees that it will get worse. Reading Colin Flaherty's book makes it painfully clear that the degree of this problem is much greater than expected as he documents both the race riots and the media and political evasions in dozens of cities across America. His previous writings had won him both praise and awards but this discourse has been met largely with silence or abuse.

Sowell argues that the media and politicians who keeping this difficulty as unknown as possible are doing a huge disservice to both black and white people. He reminds us that “the dangers to the nation as a whole are an even bigger problem. The truth has a way of eventually coming out, in spite of media silence and politicians' spin. If the truth becomes widely known, and a white backlash follows, turning one-way race riots into two-way race riots, then a cycle of revenge and counter-revenge can spiral out of control, as has already happened in too many other countries around the world.”

Here is the text for my second article recently published by The American Spectator. :

By Arnold S, Trebach on 7.14.12 @ 2:33PM

Attorney Mark O'Mara took a proper and also a courageous step when he filed a motion yesterday requesting trial judge Kenneth Lester to withdraw from presiding over the prosecution of George Zimmerman on the charge of second degree murder, which carries a possible sentence of life in prison.

As it happens, I had also made such a request in a Spectator article several days ago. However, that was relatively easy for me to do because I have no skin directly in the game. Mr. O'Mara does. He is a practicing attorney and must face this judge in this case and perhaps in future cases. Judges do not like to be told that they are biased.

However, Judge Kenneth Lester must be told that because he is biased, at least in this case. The documentation for that disturbing conclusion is contained in the persuasive text of O'Mara's motion. That text contains further evidence of the scandalous behavior of other officials sworn to apply the law in an impartial manner, especially Special Prosecutor Angela Corey.

Like Angela Corey, Judge Lester purposely ignored any evidence that tended to support Mr. Zimmerman's claim of self-defense. Remarkably, the judge even ignored the testimony way back at the initial bond hearing of State Attorney Investigator Dale Gilbreath which was quite supportive of George Zimmerman. As O'Mara stated, "Gilbreath acknowledged that the State had no evidence to contradict the conclusion that Trayvon Martin was the aggressor and threw the first punch, and no evidence to contest that Mr. Zimmerman was headed back to his car when Mr. Martin attacked him."

The O'Mara motion also stated, "the evidence provided at this early stage of discovery by the State (and reviewed by this Court) shows that Mr. Zimmerman is likely innocent." That of course has been my conclusion and it should dominate all proceedings in this tragic matter.

Up to now, it has not, which reflects the bizarre state of race relations today.

Here is the full text of Attorney O’Mara’s motion to disqualify the trial judge. It is important and sad because it reflects just how low our system of justice has fallen in cases involving people of different races. The real victims here are George and Shellie Zimmerman. Yet they are treated as vile criminals.

At a recent forum meeting in Spain, Maria Otero, U.S. undersecretary of state for civilian security, democracy and human rights, delivered a speech titled "Victims of Terrorism" but the list of those affected did not include Israel the world’s leading target of violent terrorist acts, At the high level conference billed as dealing with the consequences of extremism Israel was not invited to participate. The Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) a thirty member organization got its official start last September as a "major initiative" of the Obama administration when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced its launch in New York. The new counterterrorism association is by design Judennfrei but it is heavily Islamic. Eleven member-states -- slightly more than one-third of the group’s membership -- also belong to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) a bloc of 56 Islamic countries working to impose Islamic law (Shariah) on the world. Six of these also belong to the Arab League. Shamefully Barack Obama by excluding Israel has implicitly however clearly accepted the Arab League/OIC definitions of terrorism and terrorists.

Two weeks ago when Egypt’s new Muslim Brotherhood’s President Mohammed Morsi finally revealed his dishonest pretense of moderation before a crowd of thousands in Tahrir Square in Cairo he pledged to work for the release from US federal prison of Sheikh Omar al Rahman. Commonly known as the blind sheikh Rahman was the mastermind behind the1993 World Trade Center bombing, his cell also murdered Rabbi Meir Kahane in New York in 1990, they plotted the assassination of then president Hosni Mubarak, in addition they intended to destroy the Lincoln and Holland tunnels as well as the UN headquarters. He was the leader of Gama'at al-Islamia — the Islamic Group, responsible, among other things for the assassination of Anwar Sadat in 1981. A renowned religious leader Rahman wrote the fatwa or Islamic ruling permitting Sadat's murder in retribution for his signing the peace treaty with Israel and he wrote the one calling for jihad against the US which after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks Osama bin Laden cited as their justification.

By calling for this man’s release Morsi has aligned himself and his government with the US's worst enemies. His Islamic Group is listed by the State Department as a specially designated terrorist organization and Obama responded to this blatant act of hostility by inviting Morsi to the white House. Morsi will not be not the only Rahman supporter to enjoy the administration’s warm hospitality. Despite the fact that US federal law makes it a felony to assist members of specially designated terrorist organizations last month the State Department invited group member Hani Nour Eldin meet with senior US officials. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland refused to provide any explanation for the administration's decision to break federal law.

Meanwhile when Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu offered to release 124 Palestinian terrorist murderers from Israeli prisons in exchange for a meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman and Fatah chief Mahmoud Abbas he was refused because Abbas did not think the offer was generous enough. Obama’s government responded this time by a attacking Israel. Our President used the legal opinion of a panel of expert Israeli jurists regarding the legality of Israeli communities beyond the 1949 armistice lines for his latest example of anti-Israeli venom. He did this even though the committee's findings, published this week concluded that under international law, these communities are completely legal and that here is nothing remotely revolutionary about this finding. This has been Israel's position since 1967, and arguably since 1922.

Caroline Glick cogently argues ”the disparity between the administration's treatment of the Morsi government on the one hand and the Netanyahu government on the other places the nature of its Middle East policy in stark relief. Obama came into office with a theory on which he based his Middle East policy. His theory was that jihadists hate America because the US supports Israel. By placing what Obama referred to as ‘daylight’ between the US and Israel, he believed he would convince the jihadists to put aside their hatred of America. Obama has implemented this policy for 3 and a half years. And its record of spectacular failure is unbroken.”

After spending an absurd amount of time branding state Republican officials as racists for wanting to combat fraudulent voting by requiring a very easily and safely obtainable photo identification card as proof someone is eligible to take part the Obama Administration has now required reporters to produce this very same kind of documentation to do their job that the President has been so loudly complaining about. The hypocrisy of Barack Obama is truly astounding. When Attorney General Eric Holder addressed the NAACP Nation Convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, the media needed a government issued photo ID to attend and report on it. Ironically, NAACP President Ben Jealous attacked photo identification requirements just before Holder took the stage comparing them to the great civil rights battles of the 1960s. What a gross insult to the courageous people who risked their lives during that movement. If requiring such credentials is a racist act then what does Holder’s participation at this event say about him?

This should be the final straw for any decent person who was thinking of voting for Obama in November. This is a true outrage. Yet, it might not affect many American Jewish voters because they vote Democratic no matter what. I wonder if Obama ordered Tel Aviv bombed, what impact that would have on Jewish voters in this country. They are so biased in his favor, probably very little effect. They would shrug their shoulders, blame the attack on George Bush, and go vote for “The One”.

After reading the order the order setting bail for George Zimmerman I felt it necessary to write a letter to the judge who issued it strongly suggesting that he recuse himself from the trial. It has been published by the American Spectator part one and part two. Here it is as follows:

Honorable Kenneth R. Lester, Jr., Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court, Seminole County, Florida

Dear Judge Lester:

I just finished reading the text of the "Order Setting Bail" regarding George Zimmerman, wherein you raised the bail to one million dollars. With great respect, I am moved to tell you that it was a distressing experience to this old retired lawyer because the order was so far removed from the actual facts of the case.

In that order you portrayed the defendant, George Zimmerman, as a clever, knowledgeable person who has "tried to manipulate the system when he has been presented the opportunity to do so." You described him as a fellow who lied to everyone, including his own counsel, about the state of his finances and accordingly was not to be believed on any matter. You waxed eloquent on the deception played upon you when Shellie Zimmerman, the defendant's wife, stated in court that she was not aware of any funds the couple had.

Your honor, you then went on to state: "While not exactly the same, this Court finds that deceiving the Court at a bond hearing is akin to violating a bond condition." Then, sir, you came perilously close to equating that deception to the act of committing a new offense while out on bond.

You went on to consider the defendant's past and present conduct and had to conclude that there was no record of previous convictions "or failure to appear at court proceedings." You reviewed the defense claims that Zimmerman's silence in the presence of his wife's false testimony in court was occasioned by his fear and confusion. You rejected those arguments and then jumped to this extraordinary conclusion: "Although there is no record of flight to avoid prosecution, this court finds that circumstances indicate that the Defendant was preparing to flee to avoid prosecution."

On the core issue of the weight of the evidence supporting the charge of second degree murder, you concluded that the State's case was "strong" and to support that finding you mentioned the infamous probable cause affidavit submitted by special prosecutor Angela Corey. In that affidavit and in testimony of one of her investigators, it appeared that "the Defendants actions were imminently dangerous to another and that he acted with a depraved mind regardless of human life." You agreed with those damning statements.

In my view, you are wrong on each of these important points, save one. The Zimmermans did mislead you on their finances and my hope is that you see that for what it is, a small part of the overall picture. Recall that George and Shellie have been the victims of what amounts to a national lynch mob, led in part by the president and the attorney general. They have received a flood of death threats from the Black Panthers and many others. They have been forced to leave their home in Sanford. So have other family members. George has had to leave his job and his college. They have been forced into hiding and he must now stay in a safe house. Think of how you would feel if you received constant death threats and had to leave everything with which you were familiar. In that situation, it is quite understandable that you would become secretive and be very cautious when asked about your finances in a court hearing.

These are terrified young people and you are treating them as clever pariahs and devious criminals. You are supposed to assure their dignity and their safety. You have sought to do neither. Just the opposite. For shame.

It is as if you had graduated from the Al Sharpton School of Law.

My review of all of the available evidence and information leads me to believe, as have other legal analysts, that the state's case is fatally weak. That has led me to conclude that George Zimmerman is innocent, which is an extraordinary public statement for an old lawyer and legal scholar to make -- since the case has not yet been tried. I am not saying merely that there is insufficient evidence for the state to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt. I am saying innocent. Period.

Here are some of the facts that led to my conclusion. Zimmerman's claim of self defense is supported by almost every piece of information that has come to light. The first police officer on the scene arrived within minutes of the tragic shooting. He observed that Zimmerman was bloody and looked beaten. The second police officer arrived moments later and reported that Zimmerman told him that he had been screaming for help but that no one would help him. The fire department emergency medical technician told of how he had treated Zimmerman's head and face wounds. A subsequent doctor's report confirmed his injuries and stated that he suffered from a broken nose.

Such reports made within a short time of the incident, in my experience, are the most persuasive. There is no time to make up stories in such hurried circumstances. All of them support Zimmerman's claim of self-defense. These statements made in the heat of the moment, or near to it, are much more compelling than the affidavit filed by Angela Corey months later, an affidavit you cited with approval.

None of the early statements by officials mentioned any hint of racial bias in any comment made by the defendant.

Trayvon Martin was killed with one shot to the chest fired at close range. This was consistent with Zimmerman's description of the encounter. Had Zimmerman been intent on stalking and killing the young man, he could have taken out his pistol and fired several shots from a distance, perhaps hitting him in the back.

On the evening of the sad event, George Zimmerman agreed to voluntarily take a CVSA Truth Verification test in the Sanford police station. This is a form of lie detector test used by many police departments. While not ordinarily admissible in a formal court trial, as you know, it does help guide police and prosecution officials in determining whether or not to proceed with an arrest and prosecution in the early stages of a case. The confidential report gives the examiner four choices to describe how the subject fared. The examiner checked the fourth and highest level: "The examinee has told substantially the complete truth in regards to this examination." Such evidence quite probably figured in the decision by the police chief and the then-prosecutor to drop the case, at least initially

. It is of major significance that, in the early stages, the only official to question Zimmerman's racial tolerance and also his innocence was lead detective Christopher Serino. Within a few days he practically accused Zimmerman of being a bigot and also urged that he be charged with manslaughter. Recently, Serino was reduced to a patrolman on the night shift. The change was labeled as voluntary but there is some new information that his role in the case, on numerous fronts, has been quietly discredited.

Your honor, I am baffled to try to understand your conclusion that Zimmerman was preparing to flee the jurisdiction. That is simply bizarre. Adam Vincent, a Seminole County probation officer, testified, "We never had any problems from Mr. Zimmerman while he was under our supervision…. For all intents and purposes he was a model client."

I have been forced to conclude that like Christopher Serino and Angela Corey, you have made it obvious that in your mind George Zimmerman is guilty of second degree murder. It would help restore my faith in the legal profession, which faith is a cornerstone of my very being, if you recused yourself from the case -- and moreover issued an apology to all concerned for the misleading contents of the bail order.

With sadness and deep concern,

Arnold S. Trebach

The latest employment report does not bode well for the American worker or the reelection of Barack Obama. The Labor Department informs us that in June the U,S. economy created only 80,000 jobs less than the 90,000economists were forecasting. Employment growth is not picking up fast enough to lower the unemployment figure, a key number in predicting who will be the next president, since the labor force continues to increase by 150,000 workers per month on average. Private sector job creation was just 84,000 in June down sharply from the105.000 added in May keeping the unemployment rate at a lofty 8.2%. This is the longest streak, 41 months, with unemployment at 8% or higher since the Great Depression.

Back in 2009 the Obama Administration told us that if Congress passed his $800 billion stimulus plan the unemployment rate today would be at 5.6 % today. These new numbers actually overstate the health of our economy because when Obama took office the labor force as a share of total population was 65.75% but now it is 63.8%. This figure should decline as people age and if this were taken into account the unemployment rate would in fact be 10.5% today. Also if you consider those employed only part time for economic reasons then the rate jumps to 14.9% and disturbingly the average duration of unemployment has become 39,9 weeks. Not only were Obama’s prediction back then false but the economy is clearly revealed to be moving in the wrong direction with him in charge.

PJ Media has now published my most recent essay on the case of George Zimmerman. Here it is below included with reader’s comments well worth viewing.

Several months ago, after a review of the then-available evidence, I concluded that George Zimmerman was innocent. New evidence, recently released by the trial judge, supports the fact that George Zimmerman is the victim of a liberal racist lynch mob.

There is no doubt in my mind that Zimmerman is the main victim here and that President Obama, Attorney General Holder, Al Sharpton, special prosecutor Angela Corey, Sanford detective Chris Serino, and a host of others are prominent members of this shameful multiracial lynch mob.

In my previous article, I pointed out that I have investigated many cases of racial violence and police brutality, and have documented, in official federal reports, that many such awful events have indeed taken place in this country. Yet Zimmerman’s case did not have any of the features of those other incidents of racial brutality.

Zimmerman’s recently released statements have no hint of bias or racial animosity on his part. It is significant that the first mention of race in the new evidence was brought up by Sanford detective Chris Serino. Initially Serino had been quite supportive of Zimmerman’s trauma, but then within a few days he started to openly doubt the reasons why Zimmerman decided that Martin was suspicious.

He asked, “Had this person been white would you have felt the same way?” Zimmerman responded, “Yes.”

Serino persisted and implied that Zimmerman had instigated the confrontation and said that Trayvon Martin “was not doing anything bad. … He was 17. … A kid with a future … not a goon.”

Serino also asked Zimmerman if he had a problem with black people. Zimmerman replied that he didn’t.

Here is the core of this nightmare. One detective decided, without evidence, that Zimmerman could not be believed. Chris Serino had no reliable evidence to support his position but he went ahead and submitted an affidavit calling for a manslaughter charge.

Detective Serino ignored the evidence that Martin walked around in the rain aimlessly looking at houses. He ignored the evidence that Martin had attacked Zimmerman and threatened to kill him, shouting: “You gonna die tonight, M__ F__!” The detective also ignored the obvious injuries on Zimmerman’s face during the interviews.

The chief of police and the district attorney first decided that there was not enough evidence to support Serino’s hunches. Lack of evidence is a cornerstone rationale for the operation of a civilized legal system when ethical officials decide not to proceed with a prosecution.

After the mob appeared demanding Zimmerman’s head, the governor appointed a new special prosecutor, Angela Corey, to handle the case. She openly talked about “Dear Trayvon” and appeared to support the mob’s suspicions.

Zimmerman was then charged.

Rather than investigate the New Black Panthers or the other criminals making death threats, teams of FBI agents and local investigators have been ordered by Eric Holder’s Justice Department to go around Florida asking about whether anyone has heard George Zimmerman make racist comments. You can’t make this stuff up.

It is time that we all face up to the curse of extraordinary crime rates in the black community, usually directed at other blacks. Black are usually (though not always) the victims. It is the 800-pound monster in America’s living rooms that polite people do not discuss, lest we be labeled racists.

Among the many hopes I had for the new president when I voted for him was that he would effectively deal with black crime, in part because of his experience as a community organizer and in part because his own race would prevent charges of racism against him. Yet Mr. Obama has not faced up to black crime.

The Retreat at Twin Lakes, where Zimmerman and his wife live, is not, as has been often implied, an all-white neighborhood. It is indeed gated, but it is also multiracial with about 49% non-Hispanic white, 23% Hispanic, 20% black, and 5% Asian residents In recent years, crime increased and young black men became involved in burglaries and violent home invasions there.

As a result of such repeated frightening incidents, residents decided to form a neighborhood watch program. Zimmerman was the coordinator of the program. Zimmerman, who has become a symbol of anti-black racism, was actually seeking to deal with the problem in the neighborhood in a direct and civilized way.

He is now ensconced in a solitary confinement cell in a Florida jail from which he pleads with his wife Shellie to get a bulletproof vest and to always wear it even though it may be uncomfortable.

Associate Justice Antonin Scalia writes an extremely strong dissent from the recent Supreme Court decision about the Arizona immigration law. The allocation of scarce enforcement resources is not the issue here and it should be noted that the Obama Administration announced a major change in executive branch policy before the court had even rendered a decision. Obama said in a news conference that the new program was the right thing to do because congress had failed to pass his revision of the Immigration Act.7. However, the state of Arizona may not think so.

The real matter is in fact the existence of the United States in the first place and Scalia asks if Obama’s view of the correctness of the federal government taking the power to enforce immigration law away from the states had been prevalent at the time what would have happened? He argues “now, imagine a provision—perhaps inserted right after Art. I, §8, cl. 4, the Naturalization Clause—which included among the enumerated powers of Congress ‘To establish Limitations upon Immigration that will be exclusive and that will be enforced only to the extent the President deems appropriate.’ The delegates to the Grand Convention would have rushed to the exits.”

There is an ancient Roman legal saying Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus which tells us a person only has to tell one lie before we can call him a liar. According to Ben Smith at Buzzfeed a loyal member Of the Obama Administration’s media cabal there are no less than thirty-eight documented falsehoods in Obama’s memoir Dreams from My Father.

The most disturbing aspect of this fact is that these lies were unprovoked When Nixon or Clinton were lying we knew full well it was obvious, however that is not so with Obama. The book was supposedly written before he had political purposes so why was he so dishonest self-aggrandizement, to sell books, or dare one say it he is pathological? With this in mind the sudden invocation of executive privilege in the matter of the Fast & Furious scandal becomes even more suspect and we are left with yet another possibility he is trying to hide something dangerous to his reelection chances. Roger L. Simon argues “how then do we believe anything he says when he asserts a privilege? This depends on trust but we can’t even respect him when he’s such a small time prevaricator. There’s a good chance he’s hiding something; one could almost say a certainty. We don’t know where this will lead, but the chances are that it is nowhere good. What a horrible situation for our country. Barack Obama, win or lose, is forever tainted. And so is America if he remains our leader.”

The most famous presidential scandal in our modern era Watergate ended with Richard Nixon’s resignation yet most of his unconstitutional efforts were domestic in nature. The Iran-Contra humiliation which marred Ronald Reagan’s term in office left him looking weak, hypocritical, and incompetent and resulted in full congressional hearings. In both cases the nation’s press covered these events extensively and exacted a heavy justified price from said administrations. However Obama and the media seem to have different kind of less oriented towards the public welfare relationship these days and Victor David Hanson argues “what I call ‘Securitygate” — the release of the most intricate details about the cyber war against Iran, the revelations about a Yemeni double-agent, disclosures about covert operations in and against Pakistan, intimate details about the Osama bin Laden raid and the trove of information taken from his compound, and the Predator drone assassination list and the president’s methodology in selecting targets — is far more serious than either prior scandal.” His revelations have in fact endangered our national security by weakening America’s ability for years to work covertly with allies.

Only a racist, fanatic, or right wing zealot would even remotely consider voting against Barack Obama. Just as in 2008 now in 2012 this notion is a major tenent of orthodox Democratic doctrine. As Wesley Pruden informs us this is to be believed not merely as an accusation but rather as scientific fact. “A ‘new paper,’ that ultimate authority in academic and media circles, purports to show that only prejudice stands between Mr. Obama and a second term.”

A Harvard doctoral candidate writing for surprise The New York Times argues that “racial animus cost Mr. Obama many more votes that we may have realized. Such bigotry deprived the president, who won decisively with 53 percent of the popular vote in 2008, of his due. But for the bigots, the president would have won up to 58 percent of the popular vote, a landslide.” It is incredibly difficult nay impossible to quantify racial prejudice but Seth Stephens Davidowitz tries to disguise that fact by loading his paper with learned graduate-school jargon and jive such as rational choice theory, regression analysis, and reverse causation, but it amounts to the same old garbage Mr. Obama and his designated hitters peddled in 2008.

Revelations about Barack Obama’s assassination hit list and disclosure of his efforts in the field of cyber-warfare have appeared in The New York Times and this has prompted such Republican stalwarts as John McCain and Lindsey Graham to call for Attorney General Eric Holder to appoint a special counsel to investigate these leaks. If they get their wish this would be an exceedingly bad political move very helpful to Obama. Andrew McCarthy argues that “seeing his opportunity to bury this embarrassing episode until after the November election, Holder is naturally accommodating them — or at least doing enough to appear to accommodate them that the media will applaud as the story goes dark. The whole thing is a farce. You don’t need a special prosecutor to know who talked to the Times. All you need to do is read the two stories.”

In the article about his infamous kill list his former and current advisors describe the President’s unprecedented role in history of personally overseeing the shadow war with Al Qaeda. The second story reveals also that current and former American officials involved in the cyber-war program provided information to the paper. It also said that “none would allow their names to be used because the effort remains highly classified.” At a press conference Obama expressed laughable outage at these disclosures however astute observers will notice that he said “my White House” instead of “my Administration” because this allows him to feign indignation but if you know how this works he can later say the information came only from former not current protective staff therefore permitting the claim “the information was spoon fed to them from the White House. Well, no — it was fork-lift fed to them by executive branch agencies and former administration officials.” One can only conclude that Barack Obama is indeed a very poor custodian of sensitive intelligence.

Attorney General Eric Holder recently told a gathering of black clergymen that certain people were trying to deny them their access to the ballot box. Thomas Sowell argues that “this is truly world-class chutzpah, by an Attorney General who stopped attorneys in his own Department of Justice from completing the prosecution of black thugs who stationed themselves outside a Philadelphia voting site to harass and intimidate white voters.” A pattern of this kind of race based behavior is clearly in place for the Obama Administration. While this may have seemed like a small matter at the time the prosecuting attorney who was prevented from enforcing the law because the violator’s’ skin color was black, J. Christian Adams, resigned in protest and wrote a book Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department. Adams cited individuals by name and quoted them directly “yet, despite the fact that most of those he accuses are lawyers, apparently no one has sued him.”

Holder has left his struggle to allow illegal voter intimidation by blacks and is engaging in an effort to stop various states from preventing widespread voter fraud. He is making the ridiculous assertion that the requirement of photo identification for voting, in order to prevent voter fraud, is just a pretext for discriminating against blacks. This is the same identification needed at airports, banks and innumerable other institutions and it is a little much to claim that requiring the same thing to vote is denying the a right.

On the same day Barack Obama made his disgraceful remark about Poland he made equally bad comments about American Jews. The occasion was the Medal of Freedom award ceremony where he met privately with a group of Conservative Jewish rabbis and Jewish community leaders and he answered the question how does he feel about Israel? He replied by saying “rather than describe how deeply I care about Israel, I want to be blunt about how we got here,” Obama then reminded his guests “that he had so many Jewish friends in Chicago at the beginning of his political career that he was accused of being a puppet of the Israel lobby.” What he neglected to mention but Ron Radosh remembers was that those who made this accusation were the same left-wing friends and black nationalists who supported him when they assumed once he got in office he would be an advocate for the Palestinians and are still in his camp.

Typical of such friends and supporters was Obama’s pastor was the Reverend Jeremiah Wright who said back then “the Jewish vote, the A-I-P-A-C vote, that’s controlling him, that would not let him send representation to the Darfur Review Conference, that’s talking this craziness on this trip, cause they’re Zionists, they would not let him talk to someone who calls a spade what it is.”

The war on terror has always had as one of its primary feature a great deal of needless and even unintended death. Halfway through the New York Times rambling 6,300 word testimonial to Barack Obama’s outstanding performance as a splendid wartime commander William Daley the former White House Chief of staff finds time to mention the inevitability of collateral damage inherent in President Barack Obama’s principal war strategy against al-Qaeda.

This is quite a change in the paper’ attitude from October 2001 through January 19, 2009 when Obama took charge the editorial board saw the unintended carnage as a cause for scandal now it seems to be noble. Andrew C, McCarthy strongly disagrees with the Times assessment and he argues that “what is most astonishing in the story co-authored by Jo Becker and Scott Shane is its rationalization of the president’s naiveté and amateur-hour missteps. In the revisionist history, these are seen as emblematic of the Omniscient One’s duplicity — which the reporters, far from finding offensive, portray as the president’s most praiseworthy attribute. ‘Bush lied and people died’; Obama lies and … it is his unmatched attorney’s mind at work.”

Attorney General Eric Holder told a council of African American church leaders Wednesday that the sacred right to vote must be protected. Voting rights group are worried that Holder and the Justice Department aren’t acting quickly enough to stop Florida’s Republican governor from continuing a purge of registered voters from the state’s rolls because they lack proof of U.S. citizenship. The contention comes into place because are Republican state leaders in Florida and other various places trying to deny the legitimate rights of citizens or are Democratic federal officials trying to facilitate voter fraud to ensure the reelection of Barack Obama? Holder’s concern for the holy right to vote seems to be based much more on historical fact rather than actual fact and his deep worry evaporates if your skin color happens to be white.

Recently while talking about the Holocaust during WWII President Obama who is supposed to be so smart read the phrase Polish death camp directly off his teleprompter. Stephen Green who writes under the title VODKAPUNDIT has responded by compiling an extensive list of Poland’s suffering since 1939. He also says “I am outraged, I am ashamed. And I am deeply sorry to the Polish people, for my president. And with that, I’ve managed more of an apology than the White House could muster.” Obama blatantly screwed up and “now he needs to man up and give Poland the apology she deserves.”

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) defines a refugee as someone whose normal place of residence was Palestine between June 1946 and May 1948 and who lost both their homes and means of livelihood as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli conflict. Only about 1% of the so called 5 million Palestinian refugees fit the agency’s definition the other 99% are merely their descendants.

Those alive in 1948 are dying off and in fifty years not a single real refugee will remain but if we continue the absurdity of including their offspring then the population will grow until the end of time. Daniel Pipes argues “this matters because the refugee status has harmful effects: It blights the lives of these millions of non-refugees by disenfranchising them while imposing an ugly, unrealistic irredentist dream on them; worse, the refugee status preserves them as a permanent dagger aimed at Israel’s heart, threatening the Jewish state and disrupting the Middle East.”

A partial solution to this problem was proposed by Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) who introduced an amendment to the State Departments $249 million appropriations bill that funds money donated to Palestine refugees via UNRWA meet the UNRWA own definition cited above, making them real refugees. Kirk’s proposal only calls for determining the number of real refugees as opposed to the number of fake refugees not even eliminating any taxpayer aid designated for the bogus ones. Yet the move has inspired spirited opposition from the Jordanian government and the UNRWA itself. Pipes suggests that such rage exists because “were the State Department compelled to differentiate real Palestine refugees from fake ones, the U.S. and other Western governments (who, together, cover over 80 percent of UNRWA’s budget) could eventually decide to cut out the fakes and thereby undermine their claim to a ‘right of return’ to Israel.”

To say the least the Department of Justice under the control of Barack Obama has and continues to engage in some very dubious behavior, For example there is the Facebook page of Justice Department senior civil rights analyst, Stephanie Celandine Gyamfi, which labeled the entire state of Mississippi as disgusting and shameful. This from someone who admitted committing perjury and who also leaked confidential documents and legal opinions during the Bush Administration. The Department defended her as a respected employee.

Meanwhile Administrative Review Teams in the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division for Section 5 submissions under the Voting Rights Act. Section 5 is the tool that Justice used to object to the voter ID laws of Texas and South Carolina. Surprise. surprise turns out Gyamfi is the team leader for the group reviewing Section 5 submissions from both Texas and South Carolina. Also, the Section’s historian, Peyton McCrary, was chosen by the head of the Civil Rights Division, Thomas Perez, to receive the Maceo Hubbard Award which is given annually to an employee “who has furthered the cause of civil rights through a significant, innovative accomplishment.” Apparently McCrary’s significant accomplishments include his refusal to work on the Civil Rights Division’s path breaking lawsuit against the infamous Ike Brown in the Southern District of Mississippi. “A federal judge found that Brown had engaged in blatant racial discrimination and ballot fraud to prevent whites from voting. McCrary, in an act of insubordination that revealed his opposition to race-neutral enforcement of federal voting rights laws, would not work on the case because he did not believe the Justice Department should protect white voters, no matter what kind of discriminatory conduct was engaged in by local black officials.”

The New York Times used be known as the paper of record providing people with important journalism but as of late it has deteriorated into a shoddy propaganda rag for the Obama campaign. On Sunday we were treated to the astounding and virtually unknown news that Mitt and Ann Romney are rich. Their story was about the fact that she participates in the sport of dressage and it gave them the opportunity to use word elite, describe her as a wealthy woman, talk about horses costing seven figures. The article fails to mention Mrs. Romney’s struggles with multiple sclerosis while on the other hand Ron Radosh points out that “she obviously learned about the sport in the first place because it was recommended as being a good therapy for dealing with MS. But the article does not give Ann Romney credit for learning this tough and demanding sport at age 50, and becoming an expert and champion at it. Instead, the reader is supposed to think how horrible it is that Mrs. Romney chose a sport that only the rich can participate in.” He also reminds us that FDR was one of the wealthiest men to ever inhabit the White House and he was not attacked by liberals of that era for being so and he concludes “we live in different times, and we know that the editors of the New York Times love Barack Obama and detest Mitt Romney. That is all we really have to know to explain that front-page story about Ann Romney. Do the editors really think even their own readers are that dumb to fall for it?”

The new book by David Maraniss Barack Obama: The Story will make it impossible to cover up his two-faced repression of marijuana users by using the same dodge that Bill Clinton did in 2000 by saying I tried marijuana but I did not inhale. An excerpt from the work makes it clear not only did Obama inhale but he did so copiously.

As someone who has long been on record in favor of legalizing marijuana for quite some time it distresses me that his guide here for pot smoking will be used by his opponents as a reason to continue this unjust and inhumane policy. There are much better reasons to throw Barack Obama out of office than the fact that he used marijuana in high school and college. His economic illiteracy has done untold damage to our prosperity and made wealth a function of government connections rather satisfying the needs of other people. His surrender to radical Islamists and betrayal of Israel weakens our country. His turning back the clock to a time when skin color was the all important factor is already producing violence, The rules he had for his friends back then showed a propensity for selfish hypocritical behavior. He has busy subjecting the American people to his flawed personality traits for more than three years now, haven’t we had enough?

The recent primary’s in southern states West Virginia, Kentucky. And Arkansas where large percentages of Democratic voters rejected the candidacy of Barack Obama promises to once again bring the tactic of race baiting to the forefront. Since Obama, his supporters, and the mainstream media could never believe that people could vote against someone as wonderful a president as him the answer must be Republican bigots. The problem with this notion is that the participants in those primaries were Democrats.

One of the first to use race as the excuse for Obama’s dismal primary performance was democratic strategist Donna Brazile who “says it’s the result of ‘race, resentment and fear.’ The Klan is coming! The Klan is coming! With tar, feathers and rope.” Wesley Pruden has a different explanation other than race and he suggests “maybe the white vote against Mr. Obama isn’t about race, but reflects rage against an incompetent president who promised to change the old ways and now reveals himself to be just another pol with a Harvard degree and a hustler’s scheme to divide and conquer with the race card. We’ve heard this sad song before.”

In 1948 Harry S. Truman shocked the country by defeating Thomas E. Dewey in the race for the Oval Office. Jeffery Lord former Reagan White House political director wrote a long five part essay comparing Dewey’s failed political strategy decades ago with that being used by Mitt Romney now in 2012 for The American Spectator. He quotes Ronald Reagan accepting the Republican nomination in July 1980 saying: "The major issue of this campaign is the direct political, personal and moral responsibility of Democratic Party leadership--in the White House and in Congress -- for this unprecedented calamity which has befallen us."

Instead when The New York Times leaked plans for the Romney campaign to run ads linking Mr. Obama to incendiary comments by his former spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. whose race-related sermons called into question Obama’s desire to be the President for all Americans. Many prominent Republicans including Romney himself repudiated the idea. Like clockwork, the Governor whose head-on attacks on Newt Gingrich helped win him the nomination immediately caved to the predictable screeches of liberal outrage. Outrage over a proposed attack ad that in fact never actually existed. And Lord argues that “the Romney high command has apparently decided to run this campaign according to liberal ground rules. If liberals -- they of the party that supported slavery, segregation, lynching, the Klan and every skin color based policy existing from the days of slavery to the rule of the Obama ‘Justice’ Department say it’s so, it seems that the Romney folks are willing to amiably go along. And Speaker Boehner -- tellingly -- agrees.”

Apparently a public school social studies teacher in North Carolina believes so and threatened a student with that consequence during a class discussion on the upcoming election. “During the exchange, the teacher (an obvious Obama supporter) got very angry with the student and accused him of disrespecting the president.” However, the video of this incident clearly shows that this teacher’s intense concern for presidential respect only extends to Barack Obama. The High School is not releasing the name of the teacher and despite her unprofessional and bullying conduct she will not be suspended. “The Rowan-Salisbury School System expects all students and employees to be respectful in the school environment and for all teachers to maintain their professionalism in the classroom. This incident should serve as an education for all teachers to stop and reflect on their interaction with students. Due to personnel and student confidentiality, we cannot discuss the matter publicly.”

When Barack Obama appeared on the television program The View cohost Elizabeth Hasselbeck asked him “how do you grade yourself, honestly, in terms of how you’ve done in terms of economics for this country” and he responded by giving himself an incomplete. When asked the same question in 2009 he awarded his time in office with a good solid B+. Matthew Continetti writing for The Washington Free Beacon disagrees with these assessments and he argues that he wrong saying it is too soon to assess his presidency and that no serious legislative business will be conducted before Election Day. He asserts that Obama deserves a D+ and that “one arrives at such a low mark only after a thorough—and scientific—examination of the president’s record of broken promises and unfulfilled expectations. Obama has been more than happy to play into the contemporary prejudice that our president’s first duty is not to uphold and defend the Constitution and execute the laws of Congress but to “solve” every problem or crisis that the media and public set before him.”

All along The New York Times has been sitting on graphic photographic evidence which shows beyond doubt that George Zimmerman acted in self-defense. If he had not shot Trayvon Martin that night we would be talking about his death instead of Martin’s. If someone is sitting on top of you and repeatedly smashing your head into the sidewalk then your life is in peril.

A medical report by George Zimmerman’s doctor reveals that he had had a fractured nose, two black eyes, two lacerations on the back of his head and a back injury on the day after the incident. In an editorial by The Daily News law Professor Alan Dershowitz asserts that “if this evidence turns out to be valid, the prosecutor will have no choice but to drop the second-degree murder charge against Zimmerman — if she wants to act ethically, lawfully and professionally. There is, of course, no assurance that the special prosecutor handling the case, State Attorney Angela Corey, will do the right thing. Because until now, her actions have been anything but ethical, lawful and professional.” Her conduct has included deliberately withholding evidence in her affidavit which supported Zimmerman’s claim of innocence.

MAY 19, 2012

The truth about what happened the night Trayvon Martin died does not help Barack Obama get reelected therefore the real police reports and testimony of witnesses are to be ignored. Witness accounts and police reports appear to back up George Zimmerman’s version of what happened. People who saw describe “a man on his back with another person wearing a hoodie straddling him and throwing punches.” Trayvon Martin’s father initially told “an investigator after listening to 911 tapes that captured a man's voice frantically calling for help that it was not his son calling for help.” Police officers when they arrived on the scene reported that Zimmerman had a battered nose and bloodied face. Witnesses, whose names for some reason were redacted from official reports, also lent support to Zimmerman's telling of what happened.

Andrew Breitbart was never a so called “birther” he “believed, as we do, that President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on August 4, 1961.” However, he also thought the complicit mainstream media has refused to inform the American people about his political philosophy and plans or carefully crafted persona. In order to remedy this neglect Breitbart News launched a series of articles called “The Vetting” which explored his ideological beliefs.

It has now uncovered a promotional booklet put out in 1991 by his literary agency Acton & Dystel which says that Obama was "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii." The controversy over just exactly where Obama was born seems never ending. Larry O’ Conner contributor to this report argues that “regardless of the reason for Obama's odd biography, the Acton & Dystel booklet raises new questions as part of ongoing efforts to understand Barack Obama--who, despite four years in office remains a mystery to many Americans, thanks to the mainstream media.”

My latest article has been published by PJ Tattler Message to Mitt: It’s Time to Confront Black Racial Violence. Here it is:

It is happening all over the country and it is being ignored by almost everyone for all of the wrong reasons. “It” is black mob violence against whites.

To utter such thoughts is to risk being called an insensitive racist by Eric Holder and his buddies such as Al Sharpton and the entire leadership of the New Black Panther Party. Yet, the fear of even saying “black mob violence” infects most of the supposedly rational leadership of this entire country. The infection attacks and silences their vocal chords and also apparently their brains. The infection has been also spread by the words and meaningful inaction of the current inhabitant of the Oval Office.

The latest example of this virulent infection occurred in Norfolk, Virginia several weeks ago when a group of young blacks attacked and beat two white Virginian-Pilot reporters who happened to be in their neighborhood. The two were injured seriously enough to stay out of work for a week.

The newspaper ignored the story under its nose for two weeks. When PilotEditor Denis Finley allowed the paper to mention the serious incident, he assured the world that it did not involve racial hate. This was also the public position taken by interim Norfolk Police Chief Sharon Chamberlin. The public has been assured that it was a simple case of an ordinary street crime.

However, Jesse Watters, a reporter for Bill O’Reilly’s Fox TV program, managed in one visit to find young blacks who said on camera that racial animus was involved and that there was some mention of taking revenge for the killing of Trayvon Martin.

For the most part, the mainstream media has continued to ignore the story even though there have been numerous similar reports of black mobs and individual blacks attacking innocent whites in the name of avenging Trayvon.

As I have recently argued, President Obama has contributed to the spread of this ugly, violent situation by failing to condemn such attacks and by allowing his attorney general to take no action against the New Black Panthers and by embracing the lead inciter of violence, Al Sharpton. The failures of our president and his attorney general make all decent people of all races less secure.

Among the reasons why a thoughtful American might vote against the reelection of Barack Obama, his behavior regarding the Martin-Zimmerman case should be among the most important.

We who voted for the first African-American presidential candidate have every reason now to feel utterly betrayed. I am one of them. He broke his promise to be a post-racial president – and thus he has failed us all in that regard.

Yet, to my knowledge candidate Mitt Romney has been afflicted by the widespread infection of silence on such matters. If he is to earn the trust of the electorate he has got to step up to the plate and condemn the racial violence that has occurred in the aftermath of the Martin-Zimmerman tragedy. He could also state clearly that when he is elected, he will see to it that the New Black Panther Party will feel the heat of an investigation led by his new attorney general.

The only people who would oppose such a move would be the New Black Panther Party.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is considering charging George Zimmerman with a federal hate crime, If the charge is successful and changed from second degree murder count Zimmerman is now facing which means life in prison without possibility of parole, Obama would get to execute him. The FBI controlled by Obama seeks to accuse Zimmerman of targeting the teenager solely because of the color of his skin. Zimmerman’s defense has provided substantial evidence that he acted in self-defense. Despite the facts of the case if this latest endeavor proves successful Obama will garner enormous political benefits and justify his disgusting efforts to bring racial tensions in this country to a boiling point for his personal advantage.

In order for Obama to make his political ploy work “the government would have to prove is that Mr. Zimmerman acted out of hatred toward African-Americans. That's why he came into contact with him. That's why he shot and killed him," The FBI has already begun to work on the case and Mark O’Mara Zimmerman’s attorney told the press “that he's gotten the first prosecution documents containing the evidence against his client. O’Mara said he's gotten a redacted witness list with 22 witnesses listed only as numbers.” We are left asking why the secrecy because up until now the violence and intimidation has largely been provided by Obama’s allies like The New Black Panther Party and the Reverend AL Sharpton.

The New York Time seems to think that incident where Mitt Romney’s dog was strapped to the roof of his car is all that we ever need to know about him. Here is another story that may help columnist Gail Collins get over her obsession and reveal a more complete and accurate picture of the candidate. In 1996 two years after running unsuccessfully against Ted Kennedy for Senate, Romney returned to Bain Capital and when partner Robert Gay told him about his trouble that after attending a rock concert in New York city his 14 year old daughter Melissa was missing. Instead of just merely lending a sympathetic ear Romney took action and “Bain Capitals Partners closed down the firm and drew on friendships and connections to find volunteers for the search. R.R. Donnelly, the firm's printer, printed more than 300,000 fliers bearing Ms. Gay's picture and last known whereabouts. Duane Reade, a drugstore chain in which Bain Capital is an investor, had clerks at 52 stores insert fliers in shopping bags. Price Waterhouse, which does the firm's accounting, sent nearly 100 volunteers to distribute the powers, and Goldman Sachs, Bankers Trust and Morgan Stanley dispatched more than 60 people.”

The girl was eventually found unharmed but contrary to the cold heartless bustard being created b the media a different viewpoint is in evidence. In an article where the partners of Bain Capital reviewed their annual list of accomplishments The Boston Globe quoted Mitt Romney as saying that “it really overshadowed everything we did from a money standpoint. The days and nights spent looking for Missy Gay were more valuable than some financial home runs that made the front page of the Wall Street Journal. I mean, money is just money."

The power hungry bureaucrats at the DEA and the self-serving politicians seeking office through ever more inhumane acts of repression all say they are protecting us from dangerous drugs whether we want them to or not. When we know from personal experience that a particular drug is not problematic and may even be of great benefit and try to tell them to stop they say no. And they even attack us for even making the request. They are fine with the use of alcohol or antidepressants with suicide warnings on the label but they seem very intent on making sure that people who live with intense pain and need help remain that way.

When Annie Lenhart went to Haiti to help after the earthquake she visited a waterfall and slipped shattering her kneecap and underwent reconstructive surgery. The incident left her in deep pain and the doctors at Baylor Medical Center prescribed the heavy duty narcotic, Norco, as a painkiller going forward but when she tried to obtain a refill at CVS in Dallas while on crutches with an IV attached to her the police arrested her.

She is now suing CVS pharmacy for false imprisonment and the story sparked 646 comments. Much of the anger was directed at both the police and CVS but one person got it correct when he or she wrote “it's not stupid cops or stupid pharmacists that are the real problem here, it's stupid drug laws passed by stupid politicians and supported by stupid voters. Why do we repeatedly call for more and more power for the federal government when they repeatedly have proven how much worse they can make a problem trying to fix it?”

The enthusiasm, dedication, and even euphoria that marked Barack Obama’s bid for the presidency in 2008 now seem to be gone jest the way his promise for change for the better quickly left He began his attempt at reelection at Ohio State University the largest college in a crucial swing state and was embarrassed by sparse attendance. According to ABC the Obama campaign had expected an overflow crowd even moving seats to the floor of the gym to project a larger multitude on television. The building for the rally held 20,000 but the venue was half empty. Comparatively in 2010 while stumping for former Governor Ted Strickland Obama drew 35,000. The count this time was only 14.000 and Alexander Marlow Breitbart News managing editor argues that “it's a campaign faux pas to hold an event in a room that isn't full; to promise the media a more-than-capacity crowd then fall this far short of that promise is utter incompetence. In 2008, Obama ran a near-flawless campaign, buoyed by enthusiasm and effective organizing. But it's not 2008 anymore, and on day one of the 2012 campaign, Team Obama has already made an embarrassing blunder.”

Barack Obama has said he agrees with Abraham Lincoln when he called America exceptional “a nation unique in a world of moral squalor, a beacon of hope for the ‘tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.’” However one is now hard pressed to believe that when you consider the American governments, of which Obama is in charge, treatment of blind Chinese human rights hero Chen Guangcheng. Wesley Pruden correctly points out that once again for times too many to count Obama’s words do not match his deeds.

After six days of negotiations a deal was struck between American diplomats and the Chinese government and Chen left the relative safety of the American embassy, but “to the surprise only of the Americans, Mr. Chen said Thursday that the Chinese were not living up to the agreement.” Mr. Chen humiliated the Chinese commissars with his courageous protests against compulsory sterilization and forced abortions, Hilary Clinton humiliated the Obama administration when she told the lie that she was “pleased that we were able to facilitate Chen Guangcheng’s stay and departure from the U.S. Embassy in a way that reflected his choices and our values.”

MAY 4, 2012

The spectacular escape of blind Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng seeking refuge with Barack Obama’s administration ended in his betrayal. The lynchpin of his foreign policy is known as “engagement” and this man who suffered years of Chinese human rights abominations is its latest victim. Anne Bayefsky the director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust reminds us that when American officials had care of him for less than a week and they repeatedly asked him what did he want us to do now, until they got the answer that was easiest for them. Astoundingly Obama’s people claim with the visit of Hilary Clinton imminent the atmosphere of the embassy was one of no pressure. Despite whatever promises were made during negotiations “State Department officials knew full well that five seconds out of American custody and into Chinese hands they could not guarantee Chen a thing.

The case of Chen Guangcheng is just the latest example of Obama’s callous disregard for human suffering. One of his first policy moves was joining the U.N. Human Rights Council whose main preoccupation seems to be falsely accusing Israel no matter what horrible proven abuses other governments commit. His decision to extend our county’s membership there is a lesson not lost on the Chinese. In June 2009 he left Iranian democracy seeks to fend for themselves in the streets and torture chambers. Syria despite thousands killed by their own government and being officially labeled by our State Department as sponsors of terrorism is still welcomed by Obama to be on the world’s chief human rights organization.

Throughout American history merely the color of your skin seemed enough to subject you to acts of horrendous violence. You really did not have to do anything of substance to make it happen. One of the tangible benefits of the civil rights movement of which I was a proud participant involved a steep decline in such incidents of senseless interracial vehemence. Now however, skin color is once again sufficient reason for you to have to endure beating with fists but also attacks with other deadly weapons sometimes leaving victims on the verge of death.

There are some very important differences between then and now, Historically the victims were black and their attackers white but now days the roles have reversed with victims having white skin color and attackers being black. In a piece for PJ Media J. Christian Adams chronicles the new rise of interracial violence citing 14 recent examples of groups of blacks causing injury to white people. A second difference is that unlike in the past our national leadership and media including President Obama does not seem very concerned about this new development and in fact some would even say that he personally is encouraging it. Adams argues “these documented assaults that have made national media are not likely to be the only violent hate crimes spurred on by events and perceptions surrounding the shooting of Trayvon Martin, and the case hasn’t even made it to trial. The same malevolent media, race hustlers, and political opportunists that have sowed discord now face a cultural disaster of their own making. If they cannot find a way to rein in the violence they’ve instigated, the integrated, color-blind society that so many of us had hoped was just on the horizon may be set back decades once again.”

When a crowd of young black men surged over a reporter for The Virginia Pilot and brutally beat him because he left the car in response to the fact one of them had thrown a rock hitting his female friend’s car. She was also attacked where they pulled her hair , punched her in the face, and caused a bloody scratch on her eye. The reporters Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami finally on the third try got a hysterical call to the police asking for help the law responded by coding “the incident as a simple assault, despite their assertions that at least 30 people had participated in the attack. A reporter making routine checks of police reports would see ‘simple assault; and, if the names were unfamiliar, would be unlikely to write about it. In this case, editors hesitated to assign a story about their own employees. Would it seem like the paper treated its employees differently from other crime victims?”

They also pointed to a public housing complex saying that it was routine for large crowds of teenagers to spend the weekends looking for trouble. One officer told the victims ”the attackers were probably juveniles anyway. What are we going to do? Find their parents and tell them?” Forster and Rostami experience did not appear in their own paper immediately however, when it was told in The Virginia Pilot another reporter pointed out that “here's why their story is in the paper today. We cannot allow such callousness to continue unremarked, from the irrational, senseless teenagers who attacked two people just trying to go home, from the police officer whose conduct may have been typical but certainly seems cold, from the tweeting nitwits who think beating a man in Norfolk will change the death of Trayvon Martin.”

The latest story making the rounds of punditry in Washington causing the obligatory outrage is the use of prostitutes by secret service agents while on a trip to Columbia for a summit meeting. Therefore it is no surprise the agency will now assign nannies or chaperones to monitor the extracurricular activities of the President’s bodyguards to enforce conduct rules on foreign assignments. Representative Peter King of New York, the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee views the employment three additional senior level people per agent at taxpayer expense to supervise morality as a very positive development. However, Wesley Pruden suggests a much more efficient and less expensive way of ensuring their good behavior “no chaperone would be as effective as a wife. The simple video baby monitor, familiar to new parents everywhere, could be connected to a telephone to give Secret Service wives back home an instant view of the beds of their wandering boys. The Lavana Babyview 20 Interference-Free Digital Wireless Monitor, for example, with Night Light and Lullaby Camera, is advertised on the Internet for a mere $119.99, with one-day shipping.”

Barack Obama is not a man who sees things through the lens of what is right or wrong but rather only through the lens of political opportunity and what he believes he can get away with, no matter who he hurts. John McCain has noticed this character trait and is calling him out for diminishing the memory of 9-11 and turning the killing of Osama bin Laden into a cheap ploy for reelection. "This is the same President who said, after bin Laden was dead, that we shouldn't 'spike the ball' after the touchdown. And now Barack Obama is not only trying to score political points by invoking Osama bin Laden, he is doing a shameless end-zone dance to help himself get reelected.”

Obama’s new attack ad asks would Romney be able to make such a tough decision as the raid which ended the threat of Bin Laden as a leader however as McCain argues since this one correct action almost all of Barack Obama’s moves and strategies have harmed our national security. He points out that "with a record like that on national security, it is no wonder why President Obama is shamelessly turning the one decision he got right into a pathetic political act of self-congratulation."

Holland’s enlightened and sensible treatment of marijuana use has resulted in many benefits for its people such as tax money and increased commerce as well as sparing them the cruelty and expense of enforcing needless repression which provides nothing of value. The Dutch government’s wise policies highlight the destructive attitude of other leaders throughout the world who continue to disregard the needs wants and best interests of their own citizens. Now the Netherlands is apparently bowing to pressure from foreign intolerant rulers to deny this beneficial freedom extended to its own citizens to those from other countries.

The government’s new move towards repression is going to take the form of a “weed pass” available only to residents and on Friday a judge upheld the plan, Opposition to the change promises to be widespread including Eberhard van der Laan the mayor of Amsterdam, coffee shop owners, and anyone with half a brain who has noticed how well the present policies have worked towards the improvement of ordinary life. ”a lawyer for owners, Maurice Veldman, said he would file an appeal against the ruling by a judge at The Hague District court, which clears the way for the weed pass to be introduced in southern provinces on May 1.”

For those who want to exploit the death of Trayvon Martin to further their own agendas a simple picture of George Zimmerman as a paranoid overt racist with a propensity for violence and no real reason to carry a gun or fear for his safety in that neighborhood works best, However, an extensive investigation by Reuters into the prelude before that killing makes it very difficult to swallow that most convenient narrative, It has become increasingly clear that the motives of more people than just George Zimmerman need to be questioned.

During the 1960s civil rights era Mobile, Alabama was the scene of many examples of horrific violence which occurred there because of that struggle. Since then the city has elected a black mayor and the people living in its mixed race neighborhoods exist for the most part in peace. However, last Saturday racial animosity coupled with horrible senseless acts of brutality returned. The difference now being that the victim was white and the mob was black.

In his article describing this ugly incident Quin Hillyer cites a woman attacker and other witnesses who said that "this is justice for Trayvon." The object of the crowds fury was”taken to the hospital, he was admitted in critical condition, with bruising on his face and jaw, extreme pain, deafness in his right ear, fluid in his abdomen and, most dangerously, bilateral subdural bleeding inside his cranium.” Witnesses have pointed out several of the perpetrators and police have promised arrests but as of late Tuesday afternoon none have been announced.

In his opening words Hillyer indicated that this beating was exactly what people such as Al Sharpton and the New Black Panther Party wanted but he also argued however, “my opening paragraph. It's not really fair. It represents the sort of racially inflammatory cheap shot in which Sharpton and an unfortunate number of media mavens specialize. One woman may have made reference to Trayvon, but that doesn't mean that all 20 or more of the attackers had anything in their minds other than a criminal version of racial animus, further inflamed by purely street-level friction. I hereby take back the allegation that Sharpton ‘got what he wanted’ when Delmar Drive produced a white victim. The allegation remains in the opening paragraph as a demonstration of how easy it is to stir racial tensions beyond the boiling.

With economic distress at a very high level, with racial tensions approaching an intensity not seen since the days of Martin Luther King Jr., with one major party accused of waging a war against women and the other one seemingly bent on imposing a dangerous collectivist ideology on us to many our society seems on the brink of a period of vehement upheaval. In contrast, Scandinavian counties such as Denmark appear to be calm peaceful relatively homogenous places without the kinds of divisions we face. However, as this video from Copenhagen clearly demonstrates the potential for violence is not a unique problem in America.

Hatred of the Jews is the strategic and political reality of the Middle East. It dictates the legal behavior of the regimes, foreign policies, military goals, cultural mores, educational themes, and even public health policies of Israel’s neighbors from Ramallah to Tehran. However as Caroline Glick points out in her latest important essay from Washington to Brussels the centrality and unrelenting nature of this irrational Jew abhorrence in all aspects of public life is a taboo subject.

For example Omar Abu-Sneina, a convicted terrorist murderer one of thousands of Palestinian extremists just released from prison by Israel into Hamas controlled Gaza was found to have issued detailed instructions telling his fellow terrorists how they should go about kidnapping and holding IDF prisoners. He advises that if the captive is a corpse or severed head you can use desolate places but if alive use a house, agricultural farm. or workplace because he or she must be provided with food and drink once a week. Glick argues that “Abu-Sneina's coldblooded cruelty and rejection of the inherent value of the lives of Israelis is not simply a function of the fact that he is a terrorist. It is a reflection of the values of Palestinian society. Those values are continuously expressed and reinforced by Fatah- and Hamas-controlled media outlets, cultural and educational institutions and religious authorities. The ubiquitousness of Jew-hatred in the daily lives of Palestinians is so overwhelming it is difficult to imagine any facet of Palestinian life that isn't inundated by it.”

Certainly one of the most publically reviled persons in recent political history was Sarah Palin by political pudits from the left, the news media, and leftist comedians all used their most virulent attacks on her. However, many ordinary citizens saw her quite differently than the elite commentators did and Alaskan fisherman Dewie Whetsell posted this comment referencing a MOVEON ad about her he said “the last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.”

Among the things that never seemed to get talked about was the approval for her by Democrats for her when as Governor she took on the corrupt establishment Republican political machine headed by Frank Murkowski helping to put many of them in jail. There were then fewer Alaskan politicians protecting the giant oil corporations enabling her to establish a system where ordinary residents got to split profits. She obtained a list of state requests for federal funding and found 85% of them unwarranted and she also relinquished her state provided vehicle and dismissed her tax funded security force.

In contrast, Michele Obama is much beloved by the press and seldom made the object of fun for jokesters and she has shown herself time and time again to be very extravagant with other people’s money when it comes to spending either to benefit her husband or herself. The latest example of this comes from information about the size and excessive salaries of her staff.

April 20, 2012

The American Spectator has published my latest article which they have titled The Trayvon Martin Nightmare it is as follows:

The Martin-Zimmerman matter is a nightmare because of the way in which government officials, private citizens, and the media have made blunder after blunder in taking a sad situation and provoking it into a national and international catastrophe. Instead of acting as the leader of the nation and seeking to calm the situation, President Obama engaged in blatant racial pandering by saying the dead youngster would have looked like his son if he had one.

Attorney General Holder has been even worse and I assume that he is working with the active approval or indeed the encouragement of Mr. Obama and the White House staff. Of all the sins committed in recent months by the Obama-Holder Justice Department, one of the worst is the refusal to curb the blatant criminal activities of the New Black Panther Party. This hate group has taken to the Florida streets and has openly put a $10,000 bounty on the head of George Zimmerman, dead or alive. If the attorney general needs legal advice on what federal statutes have been violated by the Panthers, I will seek out some freshman law student in Washington and send him down the street to the Justice Department.

Such shameful racial pandering gets votes, lots of them. There is an important election coming in November. As a veteran of the original civil rights movement, I simply cannot believe that this is happening to the country that I love. I have the same angry, sad feeling that I had when I sat in a civil rights hearing in July 2010 and watched J. Christian Adams blow the whistle on in his former colleagues in the Civil Rights Division for their racist behavior in the performance of their official duties. The current disturbing actions of Messrs. Obama and Holder demonstrate that Adams' seminal book, Injustice, was sadly prophetic.

For many years in the distant past my specialty was investigating and reporting on police and mob brutality to blacks and other minorities. My investigations often were conducted in the hot sun of Mississippi or Alabama or in the cold of beautiful downtown Detroit as part of my duties as a federal civil rights official. Time after time I documented cases of such unlawful actions against innocent black citizens. (For what it is worth, I was helped in my Detroit investigations by a little known young black lawyer named John Conyers.) Moreover, on several occasions I confronted the brutal police and mob leaders and sought to convince them to curb their racist activities.

The available evidence in the Zimmerman-Martin case bears no resemblance to the actual cases of brutality that I documented. The evidence, to start with, reveals George Zimmerman to be a minority citizen who had black friends, including two young kids he mentored. Joe Oliver, a black friend with media experience, has felt impelled to come to his defense in the public forum, and continues to do so. No reliable evidence shows Zimmerman to be a violent bigot. No reliable evidence supports the notion, put forth by many black and white officials, that he hunted Martin down and shot him like a dog.

While other evidence may appear that will change my mind -- and it is evidence not wild hysterical charges that should rule here -- the current available evidence suggests that in his legal capacity as a neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman became concerned that Martin might have been one of the burglars who had been breaking into homes in that neighborhood. The two had some conversation and soon, according to Zimmerman, Martin hit him, knocked him down, and jumped on him. There was a struggle on the ground and Martin tried to get Zimmerman's pistol which was in a holster at his waist. Zimmerman somehow got his gun in his hand. One shot was fired and the young man died. That was indeed a tragedy but the evidence suggests that the shot was fired in self-defense.

Had George Zimmerman been intent on killing the young man, as many people have claimed, he could have taken his gun out and shot him several times from a safe distance. There is no evidence of that murderous intent. To the contrary, there is evidence that Zimmerman deeply regrets the shooting and is suffering from post-traumatic stress. He believes that his life has been ruined. Because of the massive number of threats on his life, including threats from the Black Panthers, he and some of his family members have been hiding and living in fear.

Think of that fact. An alleged assailant, a minority member who claimed he is innocent, has been hiding and living in fear of black mobs. In America. In the year 2012. Now, George Zimmerman has been charged by the special prosecutor, Angel Corey, with second degree murder and is in jail awaiting further proceedings.

WHILE THE FACTS OF THE CASE have been reviewed time and time again in the media, here and around the world, I have just gone back and looked at a few key pieces of objective fact that seem to have been forgotten in the racial hysteria.

Zimmerman claimed self-defense, a legal defense that has been in existence for centuries, long before the new stand-your-ground laws expanded on that defense. I have not found a single solid contrary fact that has been brought forth in all the emotional weeks since the sad death of Trayvon Martin. In her amateurish statement of probable cause for the second degree murder charge, Special Prosecutor Angela Corey did not cite a single such solid contrary fact. Her actions seem to be in response to the public protests and not to any new objective facts. It is just possible that Ms. Corey could be facing ethical charges like Mike Nifong, the ill-fated prosecutor in the Duke Lacrosse case.

In my experience the facts that come out soon after an incident occurs are usually the facts that tell the truth. Perry Mason moments are as rare as hen's teeth. Officer Timothy Smith arrived within minutes of the shooting. He wrote in his report: "Zimmerman stated that he had shot the subject [Martin] and he was still armed. Zimmerman complied with all of my verbal commands and was secured in handcuffs. Located on the inside of Zimmerman's waist band, I removed a black Kel Tek 9mm PF9 semi auto handgun and holster. While I was in such close contact with Zimmerman, I could observe that his back appeared to be wet and was covered in grass, as if he had been lying on his back on the ground. Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and back of his head."

That report also stated, "Zimmerman was placed in the rear of my police vehicle and was given first aid by the SFD [Sanford Fire Department]. While the SFD was attending to Zimmerman, I overheard him state, 'I was yelling for someone to help me, but no one would help me.'"

These objective facts are fully supportive of Zimmerman's version of the incident. They have not been rebutted except by mass hysteria and by charges of racial discrimination on the part of police and prosecutors.

Zimmerman agreed to talk to the police investigators and even took a voice stress test while in custody. This is a type of lie detector test used by hundreds of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. It was reported that Zimmerman's voice test came out clean.

Yet, there was a conflict in the opinions of the local law enforcement officials as to the proper course of action. Lead homicide investigator Chris Sereno said he did not believe Zimmerman's story and wanted to file an affidavit charging him with manslaughter. However, Police Chief Bill Lee and State Attorney Norman Wolfinger looked at the same set of facts and concluded that there was not enough evidence to support a conviction. Since Wolfinger was in the superior position, the case was dropped and Zimmerman was released. This action was consistent with centuries of Anglo-American legal traditions enshrining the presumption of innocence.

However, those centuries of traditions mean nothing in the current racial quagmire afflicting America and its legal system. Race hustlers Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and the New Black Panthers soon took the lead in demanding that Zimmerman be arrested and jailed. It seemed as if the nation's social fabric was being torn asunder by racial hate and mob hysteria.

And where are our president, our attorney general, and the entire federal law enforcement community in this nightmare? They seem to be on the side of the mobs. Instead, they -- starting with Messrs. Obama and Holder -- should be saying that they understand American history and American legal traditions and they know that even if Zimmerman appeared to be guilty, the forces of justice would stand solidly in favor of fair and peaceful judicial process. They should be shouting out from the Rose Garden of the White House that the era of lynching is long dead and we will not let mobs of any color revive it, that we will protect the judicial process and we will protect Mr. Zimmerman -- with federal troops if necessary.

IN THE RECENT PAST the mobs were white and the objects of their hate were black, as at many efforts to integrate schools in compliance with court orders. National and local police and military forces were ordered out to hold the white mobs back. Now one of the main inciters of violence is Al Sharpton, our president's designated leader of outreach to the black community. Moreover, there seems to be no attempt to curb the Black Panthers, who a few years ago were also given favorable treatment by Mr. Holder's Justice Department. I repeat: this is a nightmare for all of us, including the millions of decent black citizens who will take years to recover from this trauma.

Brooding over this entire situation is the obscene level of black crime in America. That subject is too often ignored. Normally, it receives little national attention unless the assailants are white and the victims are black. Black leaders and liberal politicians routinely deny that the high level of black crime even exists. Numerically, as is well known, black on black crime is the sad rule. However, black on white crime frequently occurs, which was the case in another recent murder case in Florida, one that has been largely overlooked by the national media. It has also been ignored by President Obama and his entire administration.

The evidence in this case is not in dispute and it is truly a horrible racial hate crime. Last April, Shawn Tyson, black and aged 16, confronted two white British tourists in a Sarasota public housing neighborhood where Tyson lived. The young man was raised by a single mother; no father was in the house. The Britons were James Kouzaris, 24, and James Cooper, 25. Both were well-educated young professionals on a carefree holiday in Florida. It was early in the morning and both were quite drunk when they wandered into Tyson's area, the Old Projects in Newtown, a section of Sarasota. Tyson confronted them with a pistol and demanded money. When the two said they did not have any money, Tyson replied that he had "something for your ass." The young murderer bragged to friends later that when he started shooting, the victims started crying and pleaded for their lives. Tyson was unaffected by the pleas of the "crackers" and continued shooting until both were dead. At the trial, which concluded recently, virtually no defense was offered by Shawn Tyson. He was convicted and was immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Paul Davies and Joe Hallett, friends of the murdered Britons, attended the trial and issued emotional statements about their dead friends and about the lack of compassion shown to their parents, particularly in light of the massive amount of compassion shown recently to the parents of Trayvon Martin. Davies said, "We would like to publicly express our dissatisfaction at the lack of any public or private message of support or condolence from any American governing body or, indeed, President Obama himself. Mr. Kouzaris [the father of one of the victims] has written to President Obama on three separate occasions and is yet to even receive the courtesy of a reply. It would perhaps appear that Mr. Obama sees no political value in facilitating such a request or that the lives of two British tourists are not worth ten minutes of his time.”

Thus, there is tragedy and heartbreak all around us now. Our president should take the lead to defuse the mob mentality roiling our society. He should disarm and prosecute the Black Panthers. If nothing else, he must launch massive efforts to curb black crime, whether involving black victims or victims of other races. He must see to it that George Zimmerman and his family are provided with police or military protection. And of course it might be a nice idea if he called the parents of Cooper and Kouzaris and expressed his condolences for their tragic losses in our country. If our president cannot accomplish these civilized actions, he has finally and fully forfeited the trust of those who voted for him.

On Friday Barack Obama arrived in Cartagena Columbia for a summit of Latin American leaders where he wants to discuss increasing U.S. exports to the region but they want to talk about legalizing or decriminalizing drugs. This dissent against our drug war is being led by some of Washington's closest and best-funded allies in Latin America, including Colombia. The issue will be on the agenda for discussion at this gathering of thirty two heads of state but our President before listening to a word they have to say has already made it clear there will be no alteration of policy.

They want to discuss a change they even if Obama does not that because “the current approach isn't working, despite hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of drug-related murders.” The the wisdom of the Obama Administration’s commitment to these failed expensive and inhumane policys is being questioned by most of these Latin American leaders since “drug abuse rates in the United States have been virtually unchanged over the last decade, as dips in cocaine use have been offset by rising consumption of marijuana, heroin and methamphetamines. The United States has the highest overdose rates in the world — almost four times higher than Europe, according to the United Nation’s 2011 World Drug Report.”

The Trayvon Martin case has many would note brought racial tensions in America to a boiling point. In a very powerful must read essay for American Thinker Lauri B. Regan explains who seems to be turning up the heat on this issue. Conflict between blacks and whites is not new in American history however she argues what is different now “is having a president who, for political gain and selfish ideological reasons, is instigating a racial divide that has not been seen for decades. In order to ignite a passion in his base, Obama is intentionally taking this country back to the Civil Rights Era, when violence in the streets was commonplace.”

Irshad Manji offers the world a more tolerant, more pluralistic form of her faith, Islam. She was speaking at a European Foundation for Democracy (FED) event in Amsterdam in December when twenty angry Moslem extremists from Sharia4Belgium burst in and tdemanded her execution.

Lawrence J. Haas argues that hose who want peace would be wise to read her latest book Allah Liberty and Love and understand as well as embrace her beliefs because on one hand “Islam's most dogged defenders refuse to acknowledge that any anti-Western terror or intolerance has Islamic roots., even when terrorists quote the Quran or cite other Islamic teachings to justify their actions, their apologists explain the terrorism as a rational response to U.S. colonialism or Israeli misdeeds,”while on the other hand “Islam's biggest critics describe the religion as inherently intolerant, one whose central tenets invariably drive its followers to anti-Western intolerance and to violence against Christians and Jews.”

Bob Owens writing for PJ Media believed the biased narrative created by the mainstream press about the death of Trayvon Martin “at that time was one of an innocent life taken for no reason at all, by a much older, heavier, and racist man itching for a confrontation.” He now regrets an ill-considered post in which he called George Zimmerman guilty of murder.

In his defense this was a mistake which seems to be the fault of a media much more concerned with various agendas than a factual understanding of the tragic confrontation. Among the many examples of incorrect reporting have been the facts that there was no second gunshot. Zimmerman did not deluge police with paranoid phone calls, race did not play any part in any 9-11 calls, Zimmerman was smaller than and Martin much larger than we were told, two eyewitnesses placed Martin on top of Zimmerman as the aggressor while Zimmerman called for help, police surveillance video did not disprove Zimmerman’s story and there were two lacerations on the back of his skull. Despite what can only be called as deliberate deception by the media and instances of bad judgment by both parties the truth is that when the gun went off “Zimmerman had reason to believe he was under the threat of serious injury, maiming, or death at the hands of Trayvon Martin.”

The Justice Department has once again chosen not to arrest any members of the New Black Panther Party even though their recent actions with regard to George Zimmerman and his family clearly it would appear to be a hate crime and perhaps other crimes.. A relative in a pointed letter to him is asking Eric Holder is that because, just as in the voter intimidation case, the party is black and you are too?

The letter informs and inquires of the Attorney General that ”the Zimmerman family is in hiding because of the threats that have been made against us, yet the DOJ has maintained an eerie silence on this matter. These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets?” The New Black Party has issued ultimatums to the Sanford police department, put a bounty on George Zimmerman’s head, and called for the creation of a vigilante army to track him down. All of this done with no concern on their part that the Obama Administration might actually enforce the law in this case. The White House is is now celebrating1960 publication of Harper Lee’s novel To Kill a Mockingbird and the Zimmerman family member notes a comparison to the book reminding us and Holder “George Zimmerman has been treated much like Tom Robinson was, chastised for not being the right (or wrong) color and found guilty based on race factors. You have the opportunity to act as Atticus [Finch] and do the right thing. Your boss would refer to this as a ‘teachable moment.’”

If I were connected to the University of Chicago I would be very embarrassed about the academic credentials bestowed on Barack Obama by my institution right now. His absurd contention that the Supreme Court does not have the power to strike down a law which it finds unconstitutional goes against more than 200 years of well-known American history. In the Wall Journal this morning he argued that over turning his health care act would be would be “a prime example of judicial overreach.” Obama was clearly demonstrating that political considerations benefiting him were far more important in his mind than the law.

Judge Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit has called the President’s bluff and demanded he answer the following question “does the Department of Justice recognize that federal courts have the authority in appropriate circumstances to strike federal statutes because of one or more constitutional infirmities?”

According to FBI a data a murder occurs in this country every 35.6 minutes so when one such incident explodes into the national consciousness we should be carefully examining why. Do the people involved represent some larger trend? Do the details of the crime offer a way to avoid such occurrences in the future? Or is there some other explanation of why those in the media have chosen to emphasize this particular story in the first place?

The death of Trayvon Martin is no example of a national trend. The alleged killer George Zimmerman claims that he acted in self-defense and justifiable killings totaled only 326 in 2010. a tiny proportion of the total number. Even if Zimmerman acted illegally there has been no outbreak of vigilantly violence involving neighborhood watch committees. So how to clarify why there have been swarms of reporters dispatched to the site of this hardly unique homicide? Jack Dunphy, the pseudonym of an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, had a experiences very similar to mine when I was a civil rights worker in the South and he remembers “I have spent most of my police career working in South and South Central Los Angeles, where the largest concentration of the city’s black population resides. When I was a young cop in the early 1980s, I was dispatched to countless crime scenes where one young black man had been killed by another. In my youthful naiveté, I would look for the arrival of the news vans in the thought that those victims were deserving of the public’s attention, if not necessarily its sympathy. Only when some unlucky child or other innocent victim was hit by a stray bullet did these killings attract any attention from the media.”

The callous indifference shown by the media and most politicians, even black ones, to black on black violence has always been there. What has changed this time is that the racial grievance industry now sees an opportunity.

On March 29 The Guardian published an open letter which began by saying "we notice with dismay and regret that Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London has invited Israel 's National Theatre, Habima, to perform The Merchant of Venice in its Globe to Globe festival this coming May. The general manager of Habima has declared the invitation ‘an honourable accomplishment for the State of Israel.’ But Habima has a shameful record of involvement with illegal Israeli settlements in Occupied Palestinian Territory." Eli E. Hertz responded by providing these people with a much needed history lesson. He informed them on July 24 1922 the League of Nations declared "recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish People with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstructing their National Home in that country." Therefore Jewish settlements are legal and there are no occupied Palestinian territories then or now. He concludes by asking “my British friends, if you are indeed aware that the path you have embarked on leads to hate and destruction, and if you have freely chosen to walk in that direction, please think it over.”

Some very negative perceptions of Barack Obama are starting to take hold not just among his died in the wool opponents but also with people like myself who were ideologically and morally inclined to support him. Long time and skilled political commentator Peggy Noonan has noticed an important change before this next election, She observes something is happening to President Obama's relationship with those who are inclined not to like his policies. They are now inclined not to like him. His supporters would say, ‘Nothing new there’ but actually I think there is. I'm referring to the broad, stable, non-radical, non-birther right. Among them the level of dislike for the president has ratcheted up sharply the past few months.

This occurring not because the Republican candidates are so compelling and making a brilliant case against him, they are not. It is happening because Obama is “coming across more and more as a trimmer, as an operator who's not operating in good faith. This is hardening positions and leading to increased political bitterness. And it's his fault, too. As an increase in polarization is a bad thing, it's a big fault.”

It began with his controversy with Catholic Church over mandated policy and after its blowback he offered an accommodation that appeared to many as dishonest. To make things worse Obama’s operatives then flooded the airwaves with spurious charges “that those who defend the church's religious liberties are trying to take away your contraceptives.”

Recent events such as his open microphone conversation with Russia President where he promised more flexibility after the election is over have hardened the belief that he will say anything whether true or not to stay in office. Then there is the public reaction to his handling of the highly emotional and racially charged Trayvon Martin case which was “hey buddy, we don't need you to personalize what is already too dramatic, it's not about you." In addition “now this week the Supreme Court arguments on Obama Care, which have made that law look so hollow, so careless, that it amounts to a characterological indictment of the administration. The constitutional law professor from the University of Chicago didn't notice the centerpiece of his agenda was not constitutional? How did that happen?”

Two British students, James Cooper and James Kouzaris, were murdered in Florida; they were killed by 17 year old Shaun Tyson last April as they begged for their lives. Their parents have noted in contrast to the death of Trayvon Martin that President has shown Obama has complete lack of compassion for them. The Telegraph argues that His failure to respond to three letters sent to the White House by them “was because there was no ‘political value’ and not worthy of a few minutes of his time.”

In a recent State department release acting State Department Undersecretary Kathleen Stephens separated Jerusalem from Israel. It refuses to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital keeping up with its long standing policy. The White House had also removed all references to Jerusalem being part of the Jewish state from a collection of photos on its website. A GOP source reminds us this action shows once again that President Obama’s administration cannot be trusted when it comes to Israel’s security. He doesn’t think Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, is its own sovereign nation. They also argued that Obama is continuing to defy U.S. law “under U.S. law, Jerusalem is recognized as the undivided capital of Israel—period, Unlike the U.S. embassy’s move, that fact is not subject to any waiver or exception. So the question really is why is Barack Obama ignoring US law and refusing to recognize Israel’s capital?”

CL Bryant once the former NAACP chapter president in Garland Texas is accusing Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton of exploiting the tragedy of Trayvon Martin’s death to increase the racial divide in this country. He asserted “his family should be outraged at the fact that they’re using this child as the bait to inflame racial passions.”He uses the term “race hustlers” often applied many times in the past to both Jackson and Sharpton. Bryant whose film Runaway Slave deals with the topic of black on black violence further argues that The epidemic is truly black on black crime, “the greatest danger to the lives of young black men are young black men.”

Two weeks ago a thirteen year old white boy was doused with gasoline and set on fire in a racially motivated attack. Kansas City Police are investigating it as a hate crime because after they did it one of the two older boys said “This is what you deserve. You get what you deserve, white boy.” Attorney General Eric Holder, MSNBC’s Reverend Al Sharpton, NAACP’s Ben Jealous, Rainbow Coalition’s Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Mikhail Muhammad, The Black Panthers and even President Barack Obama are all conspicuously unavailable for comment.

In his much acclaimed novel Bonfires of the Vanities Tom Wolfe portrays a Park Avenue penthouse party of Leonard Bernstein, where various stars from stage, screen, and television came together to celebrate the Black Panther Party. Bruce Bawer in a recent article compares this scene “to a recent meeting at the Jewish Community Center in New York to combat ‘Islamophobia’ in a way that whitewashed the real threat posed by revolutionary Islamism. In each case, well-to-do people thinking of themselves as highly virtuous and as showing their “love” for freedom and tolerance were being manipulated by a political movement that would like to destroy them, as well as the United States itself.” Barry Rubin and Bawer see some important differences between the book’s events and today’s reality by pointing out that “the Bernstein party was ridiculed by the media of the time, while no major newspaper would dare do the same to the equivalent events today.” They also remind us that “it is not a composer throwing the party in his New York penthouse, but the president of the United States throwing the party in the White House. It is not the invited guests who are making contributions of a few thousand dollars, but the uninvited taxpayers who are forking over trillions.”

Recently at a press conference to introduce his nominee for president of the World Bank Dr. Jim Yong Kim held in the White House rose garden a reporter strayed from the subject at hand asked Obama what his reaction was to the controversial Florida case resulting in the death of Trayvon Martin. He answered by saying “I think all of us have to do some soul searching to figure out how does something like this happen. And that means that examine the laws and the context for what happened, as well as the specifics of the incident,” One has to ask is he including himself in this soul searching, is Obama going to ponder the fact that he is personally responsible for a great deal of the violence with his enthusiastic support for the drug war. He going to admit that his supposed son would be subject to subject to drug laws clearly enforced in Maryland as well as many other places in a racist manner. Would he acknowledge the fact that his official approval and encouragement of racist behavior makes the possibility of cross racial violence much more likely.

March 25, 2012

The tragic death of Trayvon Martin has given the Obama administration and its accomplices in the mainstream media an opportunity to enhance his reelection chances by portraying the country as one engulfed by an epidemic of racial violence where adult white men are routinely killing young black teenagers. However, Obama’s Department of Justice website clearly shows that no such situation exists. The most recent statistics compiled in 2009 reveal that while 13% of the population is black 80% is white, white offenders killed 2,963 white individual but they only did in 209 black individuals. That same year black offenders killed 2,064 black people as well 454 whites. “As we see, there is cross-racial deadly violence, but offenders mainly cause victims within their own race; it is so-called intra-racial.” In recent decades from 1974 to 2004 52% of the offenders were black and 48% were white while 51% of victims were white and 47% were black, Obama’s narrative of wide spread racial violence may be good for his campaign but it is yet another in a long line of falsehoods.

On February 23 a California based company Serious Energy Inc., which owns a window manufacturing plant in Chicago, announced it would soon be closing its doors. They specifically said "ongoing economic challenges in construction and building products, collapse in demand for window products, difficulty in obtaining favorable lease terms, high leasing and utility costs and taxes, and a range of other factors unrelated to labor costs, have compelled Serious to cease production at the Chicago facility." However, the press received incomplete and incorrect information because the Chicago factory remains open to this day.

It turns out that 65 people from the United Electoral workers Union local 1110, mostly employees have re-occupied the 268,000 foot facility, locking themselves inside. The original owner Republic Windows and Doors has filed for bankruptcy yet the union has been able to obtain a $1,75 million dollar agreement to end the action. This financial difficulty and confrontation happened despite the fact that Vice President Joe Biden visited the manufacturer in March 2009 and issued a glowing press release declaring that the administration’s stimulus plan would “increase demand for its products.”

Tom Blumer owns training and development Company based in Mason, Ohio and he argues in response to the Obama administration’s constant refrain “the national economic situation was sooooo much worse than they thought when they first took office is as follows: Even if that’s true, it’s because your guy made it that way.”

At a time when many people are unemployed and their families have to do without any luxuries it is clear that problem does not apply to the Obamas. His daughter Malia will enjoy a wonderful expensive spring vacation in Mexico along with twelve friends and twenty-five government paid secret service agents. For some reason this story keeps disappearing off of various websites perhaps our president does not want us to know how better he lives than the rest of us.

One current line of attack being employed by the Democrats during this election is to talk about the Republican attack on women. It is merely based on some crude comments by a conservative talk show host, since apologized for, aimed at a feminist activist. Rand Simberg makes the point at PJ Media the left doesn’t want its demagoguery to be distracted by the annoying reality that their own misogyny and assault on women is evident throughout its history.

The verbal sins against women assigned to the right are clearly also part and parcel of the rhetoric supporting Obama. People with personal experience of its practices have labeled Obama’s White House a hostile work environment for women. Ted Kennedy largely got a pass from the mainstream media for his part in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. When William Jefferson Clinton engaged in his periodic episodes of sexual misconduct the left always defended him and attacked the women who were his victims.

The anti-women tradition of the left continues to this day and it is evident in the plethora of rapes that occurred at the Obama endorsed Occupy Wall Street camps. Simberg asserts “so when you see a White House staffed with people nurtured in such a radical environment, as Barack Obama himself was, it shouldn’t be surprising at all to see the old Leftist misogyny and sexism (and lies and projection) continue. It’s in the movement’s DNA. So when they talk about a war on women, it should be pretty tough for anyone knowledgeable to take them seriously. Unfortunately, that category probably doesn’t yet include the mainstream media.”

The resent controversy over on air remarks made by conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh causing him to lose considerable sponsorship appears to be the work of a double standard. In letters to Phil Griffin the president of MSNBC, Brian Williams, anchor of The NBC Nightly News, Brian Roberts the Chairman and CEO of Comcast owners of NBC Universal, and The Reverend Al Sharpton host of MSNBC's Politics Nation Jeffery Lord of The American Spectator takes issue with their pronounced tolerance for the a lengthy list of the very same type of behavior from people they agree with.

one example of the many they mention is their employee Al Sharpton calling a Morton Downey guest "a punk faggot”.

It is called the worst day in history of sports not because the Russians, with the help of highly questionable calls by the officials, broke America's 63-game winning streak in Olympic basketball but because Palestinian terrorists murdered 11 Israeli athletes and 2 coaches during the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich. For the first time unspeakable violence became a feature of international sports competition. Tom McMillen a former college and NBA basketball star, Rhodes Scholar, three-term Democratic member of Congress, and now successful businessman remembers that terrible event for the pages of The Wall Street Journal. He recalls that after the massacre "a fog of depression" took over the Olympic Village. "We were fearful of more incidents. We had to go to practice while all this turmoil was going on. Looking back on it, this really was the beginning of the modern age of terrorism." Back then, he adds, "a lot of us thought the games should be canceled." Yet now he believes that would have been "succumbing to the terrorists, which you never do."

Even as Obama’s Justice Department threatens further crackdowns on medical marijuana dispensaries in California those types of establishments may soon begin opening in Washington DC this summer. “The D.C. marijuana initiative became law after Congress opted not to overturn a ballot measure approved by the city's voters more than a decade ago. In stark contrast, the federal government's treatment of California in recent months has been less cordial.” The Obama administration’s promise to honor state and local regulations with regard to use of marijuana for medical purposes has not, despite its overwhelming public popularity, been kept. However, the districts status as a federally controlled city may help it avoid the interference with peoples wishes seen elsewhere. Eric Sterling of the Criminal Justice Policy Foundation argues that “my sense is the U.S. attorney for D.C. is just not particularly interested in creating a legal and political crisis in the district. One feature of D.C. is that it is uniquely subject to the control of congress,”.

He also believes that a change to a Republican president may work against people in the capital who need this medicine since most of their candidates wholeheartedly support continuing this unjust and inhumane war. At least in this one small area Obama could demonstrate that for once he cares more about ordinary people than he does about federal bureaucrats.

The British Prime Minister’s now traditional subservient relationship to the American President was clearly in evidence in a speech given by David Cameron at last night’s state dinner. The Daily Mail asks “has there ever been a speech given by a British prime minister that was quite as cringe worthy as Cameron's ‘toast’ to Obama?” Not only did he take the liberal required gratuitous swipe at Richard Nixon, left out Margret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan’s real advancement of freedom but praised Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks for their efforts to make racial discrimination against the law while ignoring the fact that Barack Obama has been working very hard to reintroduce racial discrimination as a cornerstone of our society.

The foundation surrounding marijuana prohibition is showing ever increasing cracks. National polls are now showing majority support for decriminalization or even legalization of marijuana use. People in Colorado and Washington State are once again going to have the opportunity to vote on the matter. When Barack Obama ran in 2008 he asked supporters what specific change they wanted to see happen and they told him reform of the marijuana laws. Now a new and very wide fissure has appeared in an interview with The New York Times evangelical Pat Robertson declared his advocacy of legal marijuana.

Robertson is quoted as saying “I really believe we should treat marijuana the way we treat beverage alcohol, I’ve never used marijuana and I don’t intend to, but it’s just one of those things that I think: this war on drugs just hasn’t succeeded. It’s completely out of control, Prisons are being overcrowded with juvenile offenders having to do with drugs. And the penalties, the maximums, some of them could get 10 years for possession of a joint of marijuana. It makes no sense at all.”

The significance of this statement has not been lost on Ethan Nadlemann executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance who points out that “Pat Robertson still has an audience of millions of people, and they respect what he has to say, And he’s not backtracking. He’s doubling down.”

In fact the effect of remarks are already being felt, Iva E. Carruthers, the general secretary for the Samuel DeWitt Procter Conference, the Chicago group that represents hundreds of black clergy members and lay leaders, said Mr. Robertson’s remarks suggested that he recognized that “if you’re a Hollywood exec with money, you’re treated differently than if you’re a poor kid getting off public transportation and get arrested.”

As someone who has vocally advocated for marijuana legalization for quite some time now it is good to see people like Pat Robertson admit the error of their ways and finally come over to the correct side on this issue,

The reason the death of Andrew Breitbart produced such an outpouring of venom from the left is because he was an honest journalist and most of them are merely propagandists for the Obama administration. They do not have very much good to talk about when reviewing his record so their primary function has become keeping the truth hidden from the American people. Here we see CNN attempting to do so with regard to the critical race theory developed by Harvard law Professor Derek Bell and embraced by Barack Obama. The CNN anchor accuses the person she is interviewing of mischaracterizing the idea when it is her who doesn’t understand, or chooses not too, that this notion is a cornerstone of Obama’s attempt to reintroduce race as the deciding factor for success in life.

March 8, 2012

In 2008 Barack Obama got elected by presenting himself as the candidate of hope and change but he was lying. Since he assumed office we have been continually at war, the U. S., debt has ballooned by trillions of dollars, making the amount borrowed by George Bush seem small, and the racist, unjust. violence producing and exceedingly expensive drug war is still firmly in place with Obama and three out of the four republican contenders enthusiastically supporting it. It is a subject politicians of all stripes studiously avoid since they are inflicting it on us for no good reason. This left out topic of discussion was not unexpected in 2008 since the money which financed the GOP effort of John McCain was made by his wife from selling the drug alcohol and mentioning that fact would have opened up Obama to charges of being soft on drugs.

On March 13th at 2pm EST people such as Richard Branson, Russell Brand, Julian Assange, Eliott Spitzer, Vincente Fox, and many more, who are not current office holders with no real power to change things will discuss the issue through Google and Youtube. Perhaps we will be greatly surprised and something good will come of this effort.

From the time of the death of the Muslim prophet Muhammad in 632 to around 750 Muslims conquered and consolidated wide sections of the world from India in the east to Spain in the west. From the standpoint of history the facts of these conquests are unassailable, well documented by both Muslim and non-Muslim sources. Raymond Ibrahim, a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center and Associate Fellow at the Middle East Forum, reminds us that “according to the Muslim historical tradition, the majority of non-Muslim peoples of the Old World, not desiring to submit to Islam or its laws (Sharia), fought back, though most were eventually defeated and subsumed” and that these incidents of violence were often seen by contemporary Muslims as altruistic acts He further argues In closing, “the fact of the Muslim conquests, by all standards of history, is indisputable. Accordingly, just as less than impressive aspects of Western and Christian history, such as the Inquisition or conquest of the Americas, are regularly taught in U.S. textbooks, so too should the Muslim conquests be taught, without apology or fear of being politically incorrect. This is especially so because it concerns history—which has a way of repeating itself when ignored, or worse, whitewashed.”

There was s time in this country when skin color determined who could vote, who could serve on a jury, who could enter a particular place of business, who got hired, and a plethora of other things. I and other likeminded people worked very hard to end that evil practice in America but now it is becoming increasingly clear that the Obama administration wants to reinstate the notion that race should always be the determining factor in life. The leading advocate of this principle now in government is Attorney General Eric Holder and he has said “affirmative action has been an issue since segregation practices. The question is not when does it end, but when does it begin. … When do people of color truly get the benefits to which they are entitled?” Note, he expressly states that people are entitled to benefits solely because of the color of their skin the in essence same argument made by the Jim Crow supporters in the South during the 1960s. J. Christian Adams suggests “ponder a moment the layers of rubbish in this philosophy.”

March 4, 2012

He was a tireless, innovative, eloquent advocate for human freedom and a staunch opponent of the institutional left’s agenda calling for their total control of everything. Sadly Andrew Breitbart just passed away from natural causes and he will be sorely missed. His dear friend and ally in this struggle J. Christian Adams remembers their last day together and he contends “let’s face it, nobody has been doing more for the conservative and libertarian movement in the last two years than Andrew Breitbart. Congressman Anthony Weiner and ACORN no longer exist because of him. He is the zeal of the Tea Party movement, in one man.” Adams also “learned something else about Andrew: he was a good person. He had a sense of decency, of right and wrong that was the foundation for all of his whimsy and frenzy.”

The NAACP is making the ridiculous claim that the new voter ID requirements are the modern version of the Jim Crow laws. Yet they are spending no money and making no effort to combat them. In 1964 the NAACP made a tremendous exertion with voter registration drives during the Freedom Summer now however as J. Christian Adams notes there is no similar determination to get people their free state issued IDs. There is no program to pick up people who do not have cars so they can go and get them such as the ones in place and witnessed by me during the 1960s designed to help persons register despite the open hostility and often violence they faced. Adams suggests that “we have very different civil rights organizations than the ones that existed in 1964. Then, they were about accomplishment, action, and achievement. Today, it seems they are about something else. Or maybe the NAACP 2012 really knows that photo voter ID isn’t worth spending real money, real energy on the ground to combat. Maybe rides to get those free IDs aren’t the best use of NAACP resources like the rides to the registration offices were in 1964.”

When politicians admit to drug use it often provokes audiences to laugh. There are many national figures supporting our violent, cruel, unjust, and expensive drug war who practice this particular brand of hypocrisy, chief among them Barack Obama. When he wrote his 2008 campaign autobiography he claimed copious drug use yet ever since he has been in office he has been a zealot when it comes to persecuting people use drugs when he believes such action will gain him votes. Does he seriously expect us to believe that drugs ruined his life so he must save others by putting them in prison.

One person who has seen through this nonsense is 33-year Maryland police veteran now executive director of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition Neill Franklin who ten years ago decided that drug prohibition did far more harm than drug use. He declares that "drugs can be -- and are in many cases -- problematic. But the policies that we have in place to prohibit their use are 10 times more problematic." Would that politicians like Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich. Mitt Romney, and Barack Obama could learn from this man’s personal experience and stop inflicting this scourge for their own selfish reasons.

February 29, 2012

Newt Gingrich began a recent speech in which he asked an important question, “what if we had a program that enabled the American people to develop so much new energy that we were, in fact, no longer reliant on Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran. We didn't care what the Iranians did in the Strait of Hormuz because we were safe in national security terms.” He was talking about the Bakken geologic formation in North Dakota where it turns out the U.S. Geological Survey has underestimated the amount of oil reserves by two thousand and four percent, This mistake happened because it is on private land and liberals like Obama do not want us to develop it. Due to this resource the unemployment rate in North Dakota is at only 3.5 % with 20,000 jobs each paying between $60,000 and $80,000 per year unfilled and after seven tax cuts in a row the state now has a rainy day fund of several billion dollars.

Gingrich also asks if we have that much energy in one state how much does the United States have elsewhere. There is in fact more oil at our disposal than has been pumped worldwide since 1870. Now because it is an election year and gas prices are skyrocketing, Obama felt compelled to respond by saying that “now some politicians see this as a political opportunity…. You can bet that since it's an election year, they're already dusting off their 3-point plan for $2 gas. And I'll save you the suspense. Step one is to drill and step two is to drill. And then step 3 is to keep drilling. We heard the same line in 2007 when I was running for President. We hear the same thing every year. We've heard the same thing for 30 years.” However, Gingrich is not even talking about crude oil exclusively but shale oil which, Obama praised as a candidate in 2008, and natural gas too. Two days later in San Francisco the Republican pointed out that “in 2007, as a Senator, Obama was the only sponsor of a bill which would have eliminated an inventory of offshore oil reserves. This is part of the Left's great problem today. They really believe in ‘Peak Energy.’ They really believe that we're going to run out. The government has to be in charge. Jimmy Carter was right. We ought to have gasoline rationing. We ought to make sure we don't use all this up.”

Another place where Obama practiced dishonesty was when he said his administration had approved dozens of new pipelines over the past three years when he had really vetoed the only one that matters Also when he claims hey are taking every step to safely develop natural gas resources that is highly misleading because there are now 8 different agencies trying to figure out how to block fracking. Gingrich argues that with Obama “you have an intellectual left winger who lives in a fantasy world in which he very cleverly uses language to say things that aren't true that sound good because he knows that if he tells you what he really wants to do, you will defeat him in a landslide. One of our jobs, of course, is to make sure that the American people understand what he really wants to do.”

The New York is reporting that President Obama sent a formal letter of apology to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, for the accidental burning of the Koran at a US military base. At the National Review senior fellow Andrew McCarthy sees this as a sign that "we have officially lost our minds”. He makes a very persuasive and thorough case that such an admission of guilt is neither necessary nor justified, He points out a hot to be uttered truth that defiling the Koran becomes an issue for Muslims only when it has been done by non-Muslims.

This is a politically unpopular argument that Israel should be viewed as providing vital assistance to America and the West because it serves in the front line of confrontation with the destructive forces of radical Islam. The conventional view of Israel is of course quite different.

There is every indication that a major conflict could break out in the Middle East at some time within the next few months. This could occur if Israel decides that it can wait no longer for Iran to obtain a nuclear bomb and perhaps to use it to kill another six million Jews. If Israel does decide to act against Iran, this action will create agonizing issues for the United States and of course especially for President Obama. In the minds of many opinion leaders, including not a few in the White House, Israel is an unpredictable wild card troubling American leaders who are seeking to avoid getting involved in yet another war in that volatile region. Thus, the current American mission is to control Israel until such time as American leaders decide that it is vital to take action against Iran – and only at such a time as American leaders dictate.

A corollary to that line of thinking is that the region would be more peaceful if only the stiff-necked Jews were more reasonable in dealing with their neighbors and finally agreed to make a deal with the Palestinians, a deal made impossible by the stubborn Jewish leaders.

Yet, it could well be argued that such views ignore history, both short-term and long-term. In the long term, we too easily forget that the West has been under attack by the forces of radical Islam for centuries. In the short term, we certainly do not need reminding that in recent years the attacks of Muslim aggressors have hit Western nations time and time again. The massive assault on 9/11 was not a unique event but indeed was part of a consistent pattern of attacks on American and other Western interests in many parts of the world. Among the most harmful Islamic aggressors have been Iran and its terrorist allies who have murdered Americans in large numbers such as in the attack on the Marine barracks in 1983. Seen in that light, the frequent attacks on Israeli targets must be understood as part of a pattern that has been ongoing for centuries, long before the state of Israel existed. The relatively recent conflicts with the Palestinians fit into that pattern. Therefore, none of the recent alleged provocations of the Israelis matter that much.

We in the West who are not Muslims are considered by hordes of Islamic leaders and followers to be infidels and eternal enemies who must be forcibly converted or destroyed. Again, it is not that we non-Muslims – Israelis and Americans alike -- have done something bad to the Islamic multitudes but rather that we exist. Our provocation is the act of breathing and living.

Now that the Obama administration is actually banning references to radical Islam, it will be difficult for Mr. Obama and his advisors to get their minds around the idea that Israel should be viewed as the frontline outpost of the West in a worldwide historical battle that pits the forces of modern enlightenment against retrograde forces securely rooted in the seventh century. Israel is the only nation that confronts the seventh century forces face to face every day. It is possible to argue with the techniques it uses to carry out that confrontation because the Israelis are often impolite and rude, but the confrontation itself is serving a protective purpose for all of modern civilization – and thereby it could be said that the Israelis man the wall behind which the rest of us in the West live relatively sheltered and secure lives.

Some of the strongest American supporters of these tough Israelis are members of our armed forces and police agencies. I recall encountering a Marine who happened to be in my Washington office and asking him during the start of the 1967 war if he had any idea of what was happening over there. He replied, “We hear that the f---ing Israelis are kicking ass and taking names!” Many of our soldiers know that the Israelis are gutsy fighters, America’s most reliable allies, who can be counted on to stand with them in a battle and not retreat, whatever the cost.

If Israel does attack Iran, much of the world will see this action as if the arrogant, irresponsible Jews had dragged us all into war. However, the rational people in this world would view that drastic step as a necessary action to defend America and the West – and indeed the moderate parts of the Muslim world, including Iranian dissenters – from the most aggressive and irrational forces in the Islamic universe. Those rational observers believe that there cannot be any peace in the world so long as the mullahs in Tehran remain in power, whether or not they have the big bomb – although certainly we will all be in greater peril if they do succeed in creating atomic weapons.

My fervent hope is that some miracle will occur that will head off the war that seems to be looming. The very thought of a major war with Iran is a chilling horror. The only worse thought is what will happen if Israel and America and other Western nations do not effectively deal with the mad mullahs very soon.

In Maine they have elected a new governor tea party Republican Paul Lepage, he was the CEO of the Marden's chain of discount family bargain retail stores and he has been getting attention with statements to public employee unions like if Marden is open then Maine is open. He criticized Barack Obama when the President took a vacation in Bar Harbor and found time to meet with union leaders but would not see local fishermen who are struggling because of federal fishery rules.

The biggest controversy occurred when he did not attend an MLK event because he labeled the NAACP a special interest. When a repotier asked him if this was part a pattern as the local chapter sugested he replied "tell 'em to kiss my butt. If they want to play the race card, come to dinner and my son will talk to them." His son is black. The place where he seems to be having the most impact is with the budget where he has closed a120 million dollar shortfall. One sure sign of his success is that there is already a call for his impeachment by This is definitely a man who bears watching.

What if in 2008 actor Clint Eastwood had said he was going to vote for John McCain because he is white? Now however actor Samuel Jackson declares that he did vote for Barack Obama because of his skin color, both men a citing a highly spurious reason for making that decision. Jackson says his vote had nothing to do with Obama’s agenda, In the United States 72 percent of the people are white while only 13 percent of the people are black but Jackson claims he was just doing what everyone else does so how can explain the election results? Simple Barack Obama is really not black because he is not scary enough.

Jackson’s race based prescription for choosing political candidates does not hold up to a close analysis of reality. For example it does not explain the 2010 election of black Republicans Tim Scott and Allen West, in South Carolina and Florida, “Polls repeatedly show that only a small percentage of Americans refuse for vote for a black person. A 2006 Times/Bloomberg poll found that 3 percent of voters would not vote for an otherwise qualified black candidate. But 4 percent wouldn't vote for a woman, and 14 percent ruled out voting for a Mormon.” A more interesting question occurs, what if Jackson’s criteria were applied to athletes or even movie stars?

Last year PJ Media published an eleven article series titled “Every Single One of Us” the result of a yearlong investigation of and legal battle with the Justice Department. Editor J. Christian Adams and correspondent Hans von Spakovsky discovered that “the Eric Holder DOJ had used an ideological litmus test when evaluating applicants for employment within the Civil Rights Division.” This goes against a law dating back to President Chester Arthur, The Civil Service Reform Act, which “prohibits federal hiring based on political affiliation.”

One year and a lawsuit later the DOJ finally made public the resumes of all 113 new hires. They all possessed the same political leanings. In 2007 Charlie Savage of The Boston Globe won the award for writing about the same problem of politicizing the Bush Justice Department. PJ Media decided to submit this outstanding work for a Pulitzer Prize and by all reason they should be successful.

The Palestinian propensity for unproved violence against Israelis remains unabated but this time it cannot be plausibly denied because there is clear and concrete evidence of this despicable action. Ruben Salvadori who is responsible for these images declares that ”first of all a photographer needs to realize this. You’re taking for granted, as I also did, that all photographers believe that their presence has an influence to some extent over the events, but it is a wrong assumption. I was shocked by hearing how many photographers were completely sure that seeing us arriving on the spot in a pack, carrying helmets, gas masks and an average of two big cameras each, had no effect whatsoever on the parties in conflicts.”

The Obama Justice Department is prosecuting people for violations of the Free Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act which makes physical obstruction, intimidation, or the use or threat of force outside of abortion clinics illegal. These legal actions are coming from the Special Litigation Section of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and they are being quickly dismissed by the courts that recognize them for the ideological unjust activities that they are. The law specifically protects the right of expressive conduct, including peaceful demonstrations.

An example in point involves Obama’s attack on Mary Susan Pine a “woman who for more than 20 years has engaged in peaceful sidewalk counseling for women seeking abortions in West Palm Beach.” In Florida Judge Kenneth Ryskamp found no merit in the case and was left wondering how she could be prosecuted with such a complete lack of evidence. The clinic which follows the standard business practice of videotaping the public sidewalks, the driveways and the entrances “had no evidence that she had injured, intimidated, or interfered with the people she spoke to on a public sidewalk. It was not even clear that the people she was talking to were entering the abortion clinic.” The tapes were destroyed as well as records of who had entered the facility and the judge called the behavior of the DOJ lawyers grossly negligent and he believed that Ms. Pine may have been targeted for her political beliefs.

Right now gas prices are increasing at an exceedingly high rate causing a great deal of hardship for American families and of course Barack Obama claims none of this is his responsibility. There are millions of gallons of gas and thousands of jobs not in existence because he stopped the Keystone Pipeline, bringing Canadian oil into this country from being built. So he sent his press secretary out to do what he always does on every issue, blame the Republicans. He explained that "the Republicans were the ones who unfortunately decided because they were looking for scalps, I guess, or wins in a situation where they somehow found themselves on the wrong side of cutting taxes for 160 million Americans last December. They decided to play politics with this decision and attack the payroll tax cut extension. Even though it was made clear by the State Department that doing so would make it impossible for them to conduct the review responsibly, they did it anyway knowing what the result would be." Never mind that the GOP heavily favored the pipeline and that to please environmentalists he Obama has been waging war against the oil companies blocking new drilling and new refineries since he came into office high prices are their fault. Demonstrating once again that for Obama his arbitrary government rules are much more important than welfare of ordinary people.

The original purpose of Black History Month, now taking place in February, was to celebrate the achievements of African Americans made throughout our past. Now, however, it has become a vehicle for the promotion of the Democratic Party agenda through the use of distortion and selective omission. Cal Thomas provides us with a description of this change.

Left out of the history is black people’s reliance on family and religious faith which helped them so much to survive the cruelties of slavery, Reconstruction. violent acts of racism, and the modern welfare state. One clearly sees the purpose in the liberal establishment’s reaction to the elevation of Clarence and more recently the outspokenness of Allen West. Especially, after he took to the floor of the House of Representatives last week to praise the contribution of the Republican Party to the cause of civil rights.

West asserted that it was the Republican Party not the Democratic one which had consistently fought for individual freedom over the last 150 years and the handouts now offered to the poor by the Democrats resulted in a "modern form of slavery." Democrats want the support of Ulysses S. Grant for the Civil Rights Act of 1875 and the creation the Buffalo Soldiers to be left out of history, they don’t want us to remember that Republican Calvin Coolidge spoke out forcefully for civil rights at about the same time Democrat Woodrow Wilson was segregating the federal work force and screening the film Birth of Nation in the white House. Also absent from their history is the fact the George W. Bush "signed an omnibus bill that included a voucher program for school children” establishing school choice in Washington DC. On the other hand, Barack Obama announced there would be no new funding for this program.

Doctor Michael Phelps once said “The trouble with heart disease is that the first symptom is often hard to deal with.”, so too for Israel the first symptom of war with her Muslim neighbors and their intended genocide of every living Jew residing in the Middle East. The beginning signs of the disease of genocide which springs from the “various kill-the-Jews themes found in the Koran” are increasingly abundant.

When devout Muslims continually refer to the Jews as a cancerous tumor that needs to be removed from the face of the earth that is not a new thing for Israelis to hear and seems to be a more or less constant theme. One place where this idea is proclaimed is the Iranian website Alef which the UK tabloid The Daily Mail has labeled conservative, demonstrating once again that the majority of western journalists are not to be trusted. The “Arab Spring” has been sweeping through the Middle East but the media refuses to call it what it really is a resurgence of Islamic extremism. The atrocities committed in Darfur were a product of Arab racism and chauvinism yet the western press chose to downplay or even worse ignore them. These so called journalists would prefer to continue giving us false and baseless lectures on racist Zionism rather than report reality.

Dr. Salimsur wrote a book on the subject of multiculturalism, Delectable Lie: A Liberal Repudiation of Multiculturalism, which so far has been has been reviewed and approved of by only a handful of conservative commentators. In in a review for PJ Media it is argued that the book deserves much more attention.

In 1971 the multicultural policy passed in Canada and this book argues they wanted to be “explicit in this idea of multiculturalism was the officially sanctioned view that all cultures are of equal merit and deserving of equal respect.” Mansur reminds us in the past immigrants came with the goal of assimilation. However, “multiculturalism now permits even insists, that an immigrant learn mainly about the customs of the country she has left — and not about the customs of her new home. She or he may spend their entire lives speaking their home country language and socializing mainly with others just like themselves.” That is the essence of racism people, should be separate from one another.

In 2005 Saudi Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal donated $20 million a piece to Georgetown and Harvard universities and the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding (ACMCU) came into being. Its first director became John Louis Esposito America's foremost apologist for ultra-fundamentalist Wahhabi Islam. Therefore an academic institution which tirelessly promotes the Palestinian narrative and hostility to Israel found an American home.

Its activities have included funding new professorships. an outreach center run by someone who teaches a course titled Introduction to the Conflict in Israel and the Occupied Territories and a training program for K-12 educators on the Middle East and the country soon to be run by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt. It also created a resource list for young adult readers and of the six books on there four of them explicitly justify Palestinian violence against Israel,

The latest evidence that Israel is a world leader in high technology comes with the news that Apple has purchased the Israeli firm Anobit. It is a company which makes advanced flash memory which gives greater storage capacity and longevity at lower prices. Flash memory was invented was invented in Israel in 1988 by former Intel engineer, Israeli Eli Hararn, who founded Anobit.

Intel first came to Israel in 1974 a few months after the Yom Kipper War and it was the first company to preform full-scale research and development work outside of the US. Since then Tel Aviv spawned dozens of startup firms later bought by giants. Apple now joins such names as Microsoft, Google, SAP, Cisco, and dozens of others maintaining offices in Israel. The mayor of Tel Aviv argues that “we are creating a good place for high-tech people to live in. I am doing it for the people working in high-tech.”

The reasons for such a successful advance in high technology include a special program in the army caused by the need for universal conscription known as Talpiot where the best and brightest are selected to receive training in the technological sciences. Secondly the collapse of the Soviet Union led to the absorption of one million immigrants a population disproportionately high in those with advanced training. A new international study shows that Israel is the second most educated country in the world.

During the Holocaust Catholic social worker Irena Sendler saved 2.500 Jewish children from certain death by smuggling them out of the Warsaw Ghetto. She spent months day after day convincing their parents to allow them to live by getting them to gentile families on the outside by using ambulances and trucks. Sadly, finally the Nazis caught and tortured her. She escaped the firing squad only because three of colleagues paid an extraordinary bribe to free her at the last minute

High School history teacher from southeastern Kansas, Norm Conrad and three of of his students, told her inspiring story with a project for National History Day. A website bringing to light her amazing story, extraordinary courage and tremendous humanity has been created and to date has received 25 million hits.

Clair Lopez a former CIA officer explained that the Council on Islamic American Relations (C.A.I.R.) cofounder Omar Mohamed once told an enthusiastic crowd "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth." Islamist groups like C.A.I.R. have undertaken the mission of incremental political Jihad rather than the more traditional violent one.

Because C.A.I.R. does not represent all all or even most Muslims there are groups opposing their goals such as the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (A.I.F.D.) who have supported a film titled The Third Jihad which was narrated by a devout Muslim, Dr. M. Zudi Jasser, and is now is now being used by the New York City police department for purposes of counter terrorism training. Naturally C.A.I.R. cannot tolerate this message being brought to the American people by this documentary and the A.I.F.D. so they and their enablers at The New York Times are seeking to punish and silence the N.Y.P.D.

Besides the enormous entertainment and distraction value provided by professional sports it also provides symbolic relevance for everyday life in the planes of social and political activity. The lessons of sport illuminate obscurities, ineffectiveness, and contradictions in many of our staple practices as well as conviction.

For example sports give lie to the notion that affirmative action “presumably validates this egalitarian and expiatory project is that members of groups that have suffered from past exclusionary policies must be recompensed, regardless of individual merit.” The idea that past injustice, even when it no longer exists, trumps impartial judgment often does great harm to society. Sport remains the one area where elitism is no longer considered a dirty word.

Last week when the Telegraph’s Christopher Booker listened to Barack Obama’s s state of the Union speech he woke up rubbing his eyes in disbelief. That time came with the applause accompanying the President’s remarks about the banking crash. Booker headlined a piece he wrote in January 2009 just after Obama took office “the sub-prime house that Barack Obama built”. He had reminded us that mortgages had been sold to people who could not afford or understand them, The young Chicago politician’s strong support for the Community Reinvestment Act led above all else to the U.S. housing bubble blowing up. Barack Obama who received more donations from Fannie Mae than any other politician typically shirked any responsibility for the bad outcome of his bad policies.

A second moment of disbelief happened when people cheered Obama as he claimed credit for an American energy future transformed by shale oil. This was the same man who could not stop talking about the global warming caused by the very fossil fuels he was now praising. Even worse was the silence that came with Obama’s call for taxpayer funded development of other sources of energy with no mention of the billions of dollars already wasted in that pursuit.

As the campaign continues Obama’s revisionist history will continue to astound with its absurd distortions.

The United Nations charter in 1945 said “nothing in this Chapter shall be construed in or of itself to alter in any manner the rights whatsoever of any states or any peoples or the terms of existing international instruments to which Members of the United Nations may respectively be parties.” This includes Israel. The Florida Senate just proposed a resolution that is expected to pass and will be part of the Republican party platform. They said that: “WHEREAS, the legal basis for the establishment of the State of Israel was a binding resolution under international law, which was unanimously adopted by the League of Nations in 1922 and subsequently affirmed by both houses of the United States Congress, and”

“WHEREAS, this resolution affirmed the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in the historical region of the Land of Israel, including areas of Judea, Samaria, and Jerusaleum. They reaffirm that they “support Israel in its legal, historical, moral, and God-given right of self-governance and self-defense upon the entirety of its own lands, recognizing that Israel is neither an attacking force nor an occupier of the lands of others, and that peace can be afforded the region only through a whole and united Israel governed under one law for all people”.

In 2011 Mudar Zahran wrote a ground breaking article making the case that Jordan is Palestine he pointed out that “empowering Palestinian control of Jordan and giving Palestinians all over the world a place they can call home could not only defuse the population and demographic problem for Palestinians in Judea and Samaria but would also solve the much more complicated issue of the ‘right of return’ for Palestinians in other Arab countries. Approximately a million Palestinian refugees and their descendants live in Syria and Lebanon, with another 300,000 in Jordan whom the Hashemite government still refuses to accept as citizens. How much better could their future look if there were a welcoming Palestinian Jordan?

The President state of the union speech is usually a very important event, hopefully it will give us a clear picture of where we are now and where Obama intends to take us in the future. It is not supposed to be an overtly political talk advocating a particular ideological viewpoint but rather a realistic assortment of how thing stand now. Over at PJ Media Barry Rubin gave his reaction saying that it was very scary.

He argued that the problems with the speech were not just political and ideological but it also showed ignorance, inexperience, incompetence and lack of character too. Obama made the claim that Americans were safer by redefining terrorist attacks but in reality U.S. interests abroad are in fact in greater danger. Obama concentrates on Bin Laden and he does not mention the bigger threats offered by Hamas, Hezbollah, the Turkish regime, Iran, Syria, and the Muslim Brotherhood. Rubin goes on t point out that “everyone knows Islamic culture is a social backwater but when you can expose and separate anti-Semitism from anti-Zionism in a prominent fashion, that is a victory and not a loss and one no longer has to wonder about people hiding behind anti-Zionism to express pure hate. If Islam is composed of Nazis let it be shown to be true and all this divestment, boycott and such will be relegated to a type of pro-Nazism which is just where you yourselves would like it to be and will knock the pins and credibility right out of such movements. There is an opposite side to anti-Zionism versus anti-Semitism and that is cynically conflating the difference for one’s own ends”.

Neither Barack Obama nor any of the Republican candidates for President except for one has shown any inclination to follow the constitution. Obama recently signed the stop online piracy act (SOPA) which allows him to unilaterally shut down any website he wishes to, No evidence or proof of piracy need occur. So much for the constitutional requirement that the rule of law be followed. The latest appropriation for defense department contains a clause which allows Obama to hold American citizens indefinitely without access to counsel. Again all that is necessary for punishment to begin is an allegation that you have associated with a vaguely defined wrong person.

Barack Obama, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney all enthusiastically support the patently unconstitutional war on drugs. Despite our country being over 17 trillion dollars in debt they all want even more money wasted on this futile and inhumane effort.

JANUARY 25, 2012

Last night Barack Obama gave the state of the union address and he wanted to make one thing perfectly clear the economic mess that we now have to live with is not his fault in the least little bit. It is our entirely our fault, each and every one of us. You see four years ago George Bush left this country in such bad straits that Obama has found it impossible to change.

Mr. Obama feels very different about things than did former Presiden Harry Truman who famously declared that the buck stops here . He argues that Mr. Bush, he says, left the nation in a ditch, a deep ditch, and he’s been digging out since he took office. And Congress? Those guys are just plain awful, he says. So mean. Wah, they won’t do anything I want done! Mr. Obama feels so sure about it that he’s basing his re-election campaign on bashing Capitol Hill.” There is no thought in his head that many of things he wanted to do and got accomplished were wrong for America and he certainly did not express that in his speech.

So the unemployment rate has risen 6.8% when he took office to 8.5% now, there are now fewer payroll jobs than in 2000 with 40% being considered low paying. the same number of people are seeking work now as there were in 2007, electricity bills have sky rocketed and the price of a gallon of gas of regular gasoline has jumped from $1,68 to $3.39. Now of course none of these developments are Barack Obama’s fault after all he has only been President for three years so against all logic blame someone else.

JANUARY 24, 2012

David Axelrod, the president’s chief political strategist, does not want the voters to remember that Obama and the reverend Jeremiah Wright had a decades long close association where the churchman had a profound influence on Barak Obama’s philosophy and policy goals. In a speech delivered on January 10th Axelrod argued that “he is pushing for a full historical‘re-Wright’ of a critical aspect of Barack Obama’s life”

. He especially does not want people to recall Wright’s devotion to Black Liberation Theology or to read any of the church bulletins he used to distribute. We are just supposed to believe Obama’s claim that he never read them, despite abundant evidence that he not only read them but he has and will continue to act on them.

In the pages of Weekly Standard Colonel Allen West reminds Americans of a truth that many of their leaders have forgotten, that war is hell. While West believes these Marines who desecrated Taliban graves were wrong and need to receive some punishment our over emotional pundits who have never been shot at by the Taliban need to back off. He also declares “unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

JANYARY 14, 2012

While President Obama and all of the Republican candidates for the highest office except one strive to prove how harsh and cruel they can be in their treatment of anyone who uses a drug that does not make pharmaceutical or alcohol companies enormous profits, Meanwhile Canadian government has continued to pursue a far more humane and effective harm reduction strategy. These cynical seekers of political power do this because they believe that fostering fear and hatred of the other is the way for them to get votes.

JANYARY 4, 2012

Last year the American taxpayers had to dig into their pockets and come up with 454 billion dollars of their own money to pay interest on the well over 15 trillion dollars in national debt. Many of them unemployed had to forgo things they needed or wanted for their own families and what did they get for their money, the privilege of owing even more.

During the summer President Obama wanted to borrow another 2.4 trillion so he compromised with the Republican leadership and they said he could do that but they all had to cut spending. Now if you spend S100 dollars on Monday and you tell your wife at night that you are going to go out on Tuesday and spend $200. If you then spend $150 the next day, you have not cut spending by $50 you have increased by that much. The American people then learned the true lesson of bipartisanship, it means the Republicans and Democrats getting together to harm everyone else to benefit themselves.

Now even though the Obama family can afford, with taxpayer money, a nice 4 million dollar Hawaiian vacation Mrs. Obama wants poor and middle class Americans to give her husband yet more cash so that he can get reelected and the crushing government debt burden on us and our children can continue to grow astronomically.

THURS FEB 22 - 1:30 PM

The subtitle could be-- the criminal always returns to the scene of the crime.

WHERE: School of International Service Lounge, Nebraska Avenue, N.W.

Plenty of parking across the street in the Nebraska lot.

Contacts Phil Coulson, SSDP, 412-251-3109 or Elizabeth Belt, Trebach Institute,
The press release from national SSDP is attached.
All credit goes to SSDP - the American University chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy -- and to AU Professor Jeff Schaler who will moderate or MC the event.  The students and Jeff took the lead in making this appearance happen.
I will talk primarily about my latest book  FATAL DISTRACTION: The War on Drugs in the Age of Islamic Terror. In addition, I will talk about my 35 years or so at the forefront of drug policy research and reform and my views on the failures and the future of the entire drug policy reform movement.
All three books in the Trebach Trilogy will also figure in the discussion and they will be there for autographing and purchase -- in the event there are hardy, wonderful souls who want to buy these amazing tomes.
My interest in drug policy started in the Ward Circle Building at AU while I was teaching basic administration of justice courses in the early Seventies.  In part, because I was encouraged by my colleagues to research and write books and in part because writing was in my soul, I kept writing at AU.  The Heroin Solution and The Great Drug War were completed while I was at AU.  In each of the years when they were released the university gave me the award as the outstanding scholar of the year. Parts of the latest book were completed when I was still at AU but it was finished within the last year, long after I retired from the university and became a professor emeritus.
Thus, the existence of the Trebach Trilogy -- put out by Unlimited Publishing LLC of Bloomington, Indiana -- provides evidence that scholarship at AU does happen and is carried on by many professors and students alike. It rarely gets the recognition it deserves -- even though it resides at the core of the university mission.

Congressional Ignorance

Former Representative Mark Foley, with his lustful eye for young male pages and his co-chairmanship of the Congressional Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, certainly embodies the most inappropriate committee appointment in Congressional history. A close second, though, may very well be Congressman Mark Souder as ranking Republican on the House subcommittee that oversees federal drug war policies.

Last week the MSNBC program hosted by Tucker Carlson wanted to talk about the refunding of the failed government sponsored program airing anti-marijuana radio and television ads. They scheduled as a guest Bill Piper of the Drug Policy Alliance but at the last minute bumped him in favor of Congressman Souder. As a result viewers were treated to an amazing display of ignorance concerning marijuana. As Piper puts it, “I never thought I would say this, but I’m glad I got bumped. Souder made a total fool of himself.” Also, we must give credit to Carlson who helped with the process by refusing to accept at face value many of Souder’s blatant falsehoods.

February 14, 2007

It is the same old story. Another impressive scientific research study documents the value of marijuana in medicine -- and ho hum, the White House says the strudy is flawed and is not persuasive and will not change policy. Science makes no difference in the making of American drug policy. This is a continuing embarrassment of the same type I have been documenting for about 35 years. How sad and what a waste of time. An important story appeared yesterday in the Washinton Post on this matter. Here.

FATAL DISTRACTION: The War on Drugs in the Age of Islamic Terror

These events -- the Mexican legalization law and that awful police decapitation story -- come at a time when I have just finished work on three books covering much of my career in drug reform. The newest and most comprehensive is in the process of being released to the public. Because of these events, I have decided that the time has come to post more information on my web site about that book.

Why? Those events showed just how horrible the impact of the drug war can be and they also showed the dramatic reforms that are starting to take place. I have worked for drug legalization for decades precisely because of the harm it causes. The book lays out the rationale for full legalization and the Mexican government has just gone further down that road than any government of my knowledge. My hope is that Mexican officials use the arguments in my book to keep going even further.

The book is being published by Unlimited Publishing LLC, a relatively new and pioneering company. While the book is not available in bookstores as yet, advance pre-publication copies may be secured by the electronic and print media for review and comment purposes, as explained below.

FATAL DISTRACTION: The War on Drugs in the Age of Islamic Terror

"In 1996, Arnold Trebach, a legendary opponent of drug prohibition, gave a speech noting that 'all of us would be infinitely safer if the courageous efforts of anti-drug agents in the U.S. … and other countries were focused on terrorists aimed at blowing up airlines and skyscrapers [rather] than drug traffickers seeking to sell the passengers and office dwellers cocaine and marijuana.' We will never know what would have happened had the FBI taken Mr. Trebach's advice. But we do know what happened when the FBI continued to fight the futile war on drugs." These cogent thoughts appeared in an editorial of the Ottawa Citizen several years ago.

The media spread those words around the world after 9/11, leading some observers to marvel at the fact that Trebach had predicted the assault. Of course, he had done nothing of the kind, but he had stated the obvious though ignored truth that we all need protection from bombs not from bongs, from Osama not marijuana. In this book, Trebach, who over the years has been hired to provide advice to many federal agencies -- including the White House, the Justice Department, and the CIA -- puts that advice in a must-read narrative for all who care about our common future. In the process, this seasoned Washington veteran pulls together the lessons of his extensive experience and personal travails on the front lines of drug policy reform. His convincing core argument: in this age of Islamic terrorism, the war on drugs is indeed a fatal distraction from much more serious business.

Trebach argues that the war on drugs can only be ended if drugs are finally, at long exhausting last, legalized. His advice is that this be done quickly, without any more soul-searching or navel gazing. We cannot continue to waste precious human and monetary resources when our very survival is on the line.

We ignore his advice at our peril. As Trebach states in the opening words of this book: "It is remarkable that while Islamic terrorism threatens the very existence of all free societies and while the war on drugs interferes with the war on terror, the war on drugs continues nevertheless. History may well record that this distraction was fatal and that it was part of a series of other deadly mistakes and diversions which, taken together, were instrumental in dooming modern democratic civilization to the dustbin of that history."

Almost every day the lead news stories provide heightening support for his main thesis and that alarming prediction. The forces of extreme Islamic terror seem to push the West further and further back. The United States is in a state of internal conflict over its global strategy, with some leading officials decrying any diversion of resources from the failed war on drugs. In early April, for example, the normally sensible Congressman Henry Hyde complained that the Bush administration has no plans to replace damaged coca-spraying aircraft stationed in Colombia because resources are needed for conflicts in the Middle East. Such views document the confusion of our leaders as to how to survive this time of extreme peril in the nation's history.

In this book Trebach lays out the basis for new thinking and new strategies that would show that America and it allies take seriously the need for bold and urgent action. One small but significant signal would be the immediate disbanding of the Drug Enforcement Administration and the assignment of its thousands of dedicated, armed agents to the front lines of the war on terror. Their new marching orders, in Trebach's view, would be: Ignore pot; ignore meth; inform our citizens they must show personal responsibility regarding their drug consumption; focus on corralling the jihadists hiding at home and those abroad plotting to murder our people simply because we are infidels who believe in freedom and equality for all human beings regardless of their gender or religion or sexual orientation.

In the midst of all of the other horrors taking place in the world, it is embarrassing to see that the American war on drugs continues to divert precious enforcement and enforcement resources from the war on terror. Our drug war also continues to imprison seriously ill patients who have had the gall to use illegal drugs that helped their conditions. Kris Hermes of Safe Access has just sent around circular letter asking decent people to help prevent these heartless drug-war incarcerations from becoming death sentences, which they have for several patients. He is now asking for help in getting proper care for Steve Kubby, a convicted medial marijuana patient. His appeal can be found here. Your letters and appeals may help lessen the frequency of these home-made horrors.

After several decades of working for decent treatment of American drug-war prisoners, the persistence of cases like these helped moved me to the position of complete abolition. In my view, it is not possible for Americans to run a humane drug war any more than it was possible to make slavery humane. Abolition made sense in the 1860's regarding slavery and it makes sense now regarding prohibition and the war on drugs. Legalization is the only rational, moderate, and sensible option This thesis is laid out more fully in my forthcoming book, Fatal Distraction.

"This is the Book of Genesis for the modern drug war. While the Reagans claimed to believe in personal freedom, they launched a campaign that justified perverse inrtusions into the very bodies and bodily fluids of American citizens. Many parents felt impelled to imprison their kids in destructive "treatment" programs if they had smoked an occaisional marijuana joint. Here you see the invasions of basic American freedoms that were expanded in the current era of terror - and defended on the grounds that they were nothing to fret about because they had already been accepted in the drug war. "

The Great Drug War

It is good to be able to report that one of my favorite book-children has been reborn in a second edition and is now available. The second edition of The Great Drug War, published by Unlimited Publishing, LLC, contains a new introduction and in addition on this site you will find the source notes I prepared for the original edition but for some reason never published. Those notes have been updated in many places and they will be frequently updated in the future.

The book provides an up-close and personal view of the Reagan drug war of the Eighties and of the harm it caused to ordinary Americans as well as to our concepts of freedom. Until I went back recently and started reading it again, I had forgotten how traumatized and angry I had become as I roamed the various fronts in that largely forgotten war. Of course the book reflects that trauma and anger, and well it should. Even though I have, to my own surprise, become an admirer of Ronald Reagan for his accomplishments in dealing with the Soviet empire, I remain quite disturbed over the harm he and Nancy caused on the home front.

In addition, I am now slowly leaving my monk's cell and making myself available for public lectures at colleges and universities around this country and Canada. While I am still working very hard at bringing out other books, I will set up a schedule for such lectures as the requests come in to this site. Please contact Elizabeth Belt at for more information on the lectures or any matter related to my drug policy activities. One of the main topics of my lectures will be THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CAPE COD CANAL AND THE EFFORTS TO LEGALIZE DRUGS. What in the world can that mean?
